Best idea I've had yet.

I had an idea for a new MMO, which I think is way overdue. It'd be the first FPS/MMO. Like the movie Escape from New York or LA. I'd put the main focus on makeshift governments and engineering from the junk left in the cities.

im sure there are many FPSMMO(?RPG?)s out there. But I dont think there are many MMOs set in a post-apocalyptic environment, which to me is more important that the game genre itself.

Id try it out.

Id still really like to see Palladium make Rifts Online though.

I want an Armored Core MMO.

That would be...hardcore.

Missiles, rockets, chain guns, and over 100,000 people in a massive Free For All zerg fest.

My friends and I used to play AC games obsessivly. Combined we have every AC game, expansion, at full 100% completion. Every part, every mission ranked S.

Those were the days.

Then that Nine Breaker crap come along

I never said it was the best idea ever created, just the best one I'd come up with. I'm sure there are at least a few FPS/MMOs, just not familiar with many of them. Planetside is more mech/craft than FPS isn't it - and WWII online not really along the lines of this concept.

No problemo here Kamakiri, no need to worry about shooting down an idea I have no intention of trying to get off the ground. From what you described that sounds a lot like Planetside. Neocron looked good, but haven't played it yet. The hacknet (like a Matrixy world where hackers face to attain information/control of processes) facet of the game looked fascinating.

I envision like a Grand Theft Auto with perma-death. No NPCs outside of robots you could build from scrap. Like I said, there are probably games like this, I am just unaware of any of them.
