Default Konban wa *grins*

Greetings,

I'm yet another random hobby RPer - how I came to notice this game being under development is funny...

IRL I attend to the martial school of Takeda Ryu (http://www.takeda-ryu.com/ in case of curiousity) with my full dedication, apart from the rest of IRL. My roleplaying experience goes as far as.. well.. Very far from my own point of view. What I value most in roleplaying is the detail. Never underestimate detail. There's a difference between "<name> dodges." and "<name> quickly moves to his right, his knees bent, ending up with his right foot in front of his left, the stance not changing.", if you know what I mean

Anyways, I've been on WoW for a while (shame on me x.x), then came to try out 9Dragons. Attending to a school that teaches arts based on not only the aiki but also swordsmanship, I joined the Wu-Tang (I still laugh about that clansname, some of you may know why) and immediately fell in love with partially the technique, but mostly, and I really mean mostly, the sheathing of the sword.

Craving for a real MMORPG of that genre, I immediately set out on my search for an MMORPG that would have its setting in Japan.. and so I came here. I just pray this game will have sheathing and unsheating techniques to show *grin* I don't fancy the WoW-nonsense many other games have as well.

In any case. Konnichi wa!

P.S.: Is that a iai-to on the Tatsumaki-banner?

Hello and welcome!

Sure, detail is important, otherwise you'd end up RP'ing a cheap MMORPG. Just without the (sometimes not so) fancy animations.

Although I'm not that much into rap I guess I know why, but only because the guys made a song together with System of A Down. When I played 9Dragons I also joined Wu-Tang. But I think the rappers chose that name because of the clan in China.

I don't know if it's an iaitô, the blade isn't visible and even if it was, it would be pretty hard to SEE if it was sharp or not

Thank you for the welcome - nice to see the first one to reply also be the first one to agree on my aspect of detail.

As for the Wu-Tang.. Everytime I hear that name, I just associate it with the rappers - I've never been looking at China's history for more than three minutes. Only clan out of 9Dragons that was known by me were the Shaolin monks (But hey, who doesn't know them? )

As for the blade.. I just feel that it's most likely a iaito XD

Ohayo

Which one of your school's disciplines do you practice?

I had Wu-Tang Blue Dragon lvl 75ish and Brotherhood of Thieves char with spear around lvl 50. Kinda good game but as repetitive as every other mmorpg and lately it has started to feel like every game genre falls into that category.
But yea, Wu-Tang Clan comes from the chinese Wu-Tang whatever it is/was.

Wikipedia is your friend

It's more likely(at least in my eyes) that the blade is sharp. An iaitô wouldn't be so useful in a battle, right?

EDIT: Ah letum. Updating your thread again?

@Letum: Only Kendo, Iaido, Aikido, Jukempo and Jodo so far.

@Kurisu: Nope, a iaito wouldn't be as useful as a sharp katana.. I was just staring at the sword in the image, thinking 'Darn.. Since they practically look all the same on the outside, it probably has to be a iaito' - it's just mind-boggling, really. We won't know 'til someone confirms *chuckles*

If i'm not mistaken iaito is the balloon term for fake katanas. (then again i'm not super big on ja stuff so i could be wrong)

As for the one in the picture, i have no idea. It probably is, but i could be wrong.
