Re: Samurai Animes/Manga's

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto (http://myanimelist.net/anime/1576/Bakumatsu_Kikansetsu_Irohanihoheto) is a pretty good one in my opinion, especially if you are like me and find the...

Re: Darkfall

I dunno about banditry and the alignment system or how that would work, but Wessex is focused on Humans, Dwarves, and Mirdain (good elves). Sorry, no furries, at least at this point.

Re: Darkfall

Well, Darkfall for the longest time had a reputation as being "vaporware", but that obviously is not the case.

Oh, another thing about Wessex. If you aren't really into medieval society, we also...

Re: Darkfall

Well the beta signups have started as well. Also, if you would like to join a community, I would encourage you join me at the Duchy of Wessex (www.duchyofwessex.org). We are attempting to set up as...

Re: Himeji castel (work in progress)

That's not bad. My only complain, if any, is that there is no way into that castle of yours...

Re: The Origins of the Ainu?

I would assume that Tungusic includes the whole ethnic cluster. As for the rest... who knows?

Re: warhammer online

No selmo. I call it a WoW clone because i don't like WoW and it looks and smells WoW. Am I going to try the public beta? Yes, because you never know. I might be wrong. However, I'm still not going to...

Re: The Origins of the Ainu?

I will concede that. The last time I read anything about the Kennewick Man, the last of the cases had yet to be heard, so DNA testing had not occured.

As for the possibility of there being...

Re: warhammer online

Nevermind, Darkfall beta signups just started and all indications point towards it starting in October, so I'm not getting it after all.

Re: warhammer online

I might play it with my Darkfall clan as we wait for that game's beta, but I'm not as pumped as you. It's just a holder game and having seen screenshots of the preview weekend, it looks like a WoW...

Re: community driven economy?

Ok, now that my point has been completely butchered... :(

I was using the governmental minting of the mon/ryo currency, which was based on the koku rice system, to argue that minting should not be...

Re: community driven economy?

No, you don't understand what I'm saying. Mon and ryo were minted based on the amount of koku produced in that year. At least that was my understanding of it as it was explained to be in class.

Re: The Origins of the Ainu?

I'm assuming you are talking about the Kennewick Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennewick_Man)? The basis of it being supposedly Ainu is only though physical examination of the remains. No DNA...

Re: The Origins of the Ainu?

Ok. Let me clarify some things. The reason why the Ainu and the Yamoto (ethnic Japanese) peoples look different is not because they are that genetically different, but rather their origins. The...

Re: community driven economy?

The Japanese monetary system was based on the amount of rice grown until recent times. The monitoring and regulation of such, if I remember correctly, was left in the hands of the Shogun or Imperial...

if you want these things then I have a recommendation. Start a postal system. Im sure clans will take care of our own internal communication, but it will likely just be for clan members. Everyone...

Re: Digital art: A house (by me)

Pretty nice. I not wild about the roof tiling since I'm not sure how realistic it is but otherwise pretty good.

Re: Your Life...An RPG?

No, you are right Letum. People are confusing the difference between life and role and what roleplay really is. Life is simply living as yourself, day to day, and doing what you do. Roleplaying on...

Re: Digital art: My katana

Yes, much nicer and better proportions. The blade is a bit too long to be a katana, but it's not curved enough to be a tachi (80 to 90 cm), so its a O-katana. This just means that its slightly larger...

Re: Digital art: My katana

Seomo's right. The handle to blade proportions are all off for a blade of 71 to 76 cm or ~2.5 shaku and the curve isn't enough for a wakizashi. It would have to be a ninja-to or kodachi (a blade...
