[RP] The Quiet Pub

[Akuma]

A shoddy, decaying old tavern rests nestled in a small town. Rumors on the air say this is a meeting place for the less-than-honorable. The lights are on, but little noise can be heard from inside.

[moses]

Kurokami steps in from the drizzling rain outside. He notices know "big" names in the room. He decides he might as well have a sake and see what happens. He chooses the darkest corner and sits down on the shoddy stool. "I'll have 2 bottles of sake and some dumplings." he yells toword the bar.

[Akuma]

Akuma glances up from his water as Kurokami enters the door.

Hmm. I wonder who that guy is...this place as has been quiet all day. I had hoped this sort of place would be swelling with unemployed outlaws to pick up.

I'm still not sure if starting this 'band of thieves' is the right thing to do. I'm a wanted man now - society has thrown me out of it's house and put a bounty on my head. I'd rather fight like hell than run into the shadows and hide. Bring me your unwanted - your misfits of the world...and I will make them the devil's army.

He shakes his head and ends his personal rant to himself. By this time Kurokami has already taken a seat. Akuma peers at Kurokami one last time, hoping he doesn't take notice of the scrutinization.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki walks into the tavern in hopes to get a nice big bottle of sake... but as yuki steps up to the waitress, he notices the company kept in the tavern... in a quick and decisive move he punches the waitress in the gut and runs like a bandit out of the tavern

[Akuma]

Akuma raises his eyebrow at Yuki as he dashes out the door just as soon as he had come.

A crazy man like that could definitely be of use to me...I better find him and offer him a job before these guys dish out some justice for hitting their favorite girl...

He rises up quickly and makes his way out the door just before a small crowd of thugs and bandits do the same.

"Hey, you! Slow down! I'll help you!" Akuma shouts in pursuit, just ahead of the enraged crowd of goons. "If you want to live you're going to need some help!"

[glowsticknation]

Yuki stops and turns around in shock at what he had started... with more quick and decisive thinking he yells "ok, i'll help... from over there"... and as he points to the grassy hill several hundred meters away, he throws 2 lit fireworks towards the band of thugs and bolts towards the hill

[Akuma]

His eyes open widely as he sees the firecrackers thrown.

Oh no...who the hell would sell bombs to a crazy man like that?

He splits away from the flailing mob as they all begin to howl and scream in panic. Akuma reaches for his sword quickly and makes a quick, clean cut into one of the firecrackers. It falls to the ground - burning fuse severed.

"You know what...I like your style." His eye wanders over to the morons spasming in the street as the firecracker erupts, setting a few on fire and leaving the others injured and covered in ash.

"I don't plan on harming you, good sir. You can stop running now..." He speaks loud enough to be heard but no longer shouts as he continues the chase of Yuki.

[glowsticknation]

*trips* ow, i hurt my pride... nothing a good bottle of sake and a woman wouldn't fix tho, says yuki as he nudges the man now standing over him

[Akuma]

Akuma sighs as he looks down. "So what the hell were you supposed to be doing back there anyway? Just trying to give your explosives a test run?"

He nudges him lightly in the side with his foot. "Get up."

[glowsticknation]

*gets up while unsheating his sword and making a violent slash upwards* well... you never really get to know someone until you've punched their waitress and thrown fireworks at them... i guess you're good... just as long as you let me wear your eyepatch twice a season...

[Akuma]

He blinks, wondering what the man was trying to prove with the slash.

"Hmph...unfortunately that wasn't MY waitress. My small group of...gentlemen...isn't quite large enough to completely control that tavern yet. I'm looking for people who need a job. Going into a place like that...you must know what kind of employment I speak of."

He snorts.

"I can extend to you the opportunity to join us. We can always use a few crazy people...as for the eyepatch - I'll have to insist that I keep it on my face.

[glowsticknation]

*starts crying from news of the eyepatch*





*15 minutes later*

ok.. i guess i'll... *dives into an alleyway*...

*gets up*...

alright then, how bout we go get a drink?

*walks off with akuma back towards the tavern*

[moses]

Kurokami hears some strange noises, that almost sound like explosives from outside. He smiles thinking to himself, Now this could be interesting.

[Akuma]

"Good enough for me." He grins. "Welcome aboard."

[poporo]

*walks in... and stares around like O_O wtf?

[MitsueNeko]

Mitsue bursts into the pub out of breath. Poporo was in her way so she pushes him aside and he bumps into a waitress that looks like 'Jessica Simpson' Poporo says he wanted that holding a tray of drinks. They both fell and the drinks spilled all over Poporo so now he's all soaking wet. The waitress gets up and looks at Poporo to probably yell at him, but Mitsue seeing that this poor guy who did nothing wrong except for standing in her way, was going to get an earful from this 'pretty girl.' So being nice she said, "Ona! Don't you dare say anything to that man! It's clearly my fault that he knocked you down! So if you're gonna complain just shut your mouth right now because that mouth or yours is supposed to be used to give and take orders from the customers. So knowing your role here, I think you better just shut your mouth right now and clean up this mess." She tosses a bag of money to the barkeep and went on with her business.

With this distrubance, she catches all the attention of all the occupants in the pub. She ignores the akward silence and looks around the pub looking for a certain group of people. In the corner not too far away from Kurokami, she sees the three people she's looking for. Fists clenched to her sides, she angrily stomps over in their direction.

“I FOUND YOU! THINK YOU COULD SKIP ON MY BILL DID YOU?! NO! NO! YOU‘RE NOT RUNNING AWAY LIKE YOU DID THIS TIME!” The owner of the pub, sensing trouble, gets up from behind the counter and goes in her path. She stops without looking at him and says politely in a calm tone, “Please move out of my way sir.”

"Miss. I think you should leave this place because it's not for little girls like you. Just go back to mommy and daddy while you still have them. I don't think you're ready to be a whore at this age." She hears the remark from the pub owner and looked him straight in the eye.

"Hey old man! Just shut up and get the hell out of my way! I'm not here selling myself you idiot! Why would a lady of my esteem do something that shameful?! I'm here on business! Those people there owe me money!" *pointing to the group* "I haven't been paid and I demand my money right now! Either get out of my way so I can get my money or you can pay me the money they owe me and I’d be very happy to leave!"

“Okay. Just know that I’m not responsible for any harm that comes to you. I don‘t want any trouble.” With that being said he moved out of her way because probably he knew she wasn't going to listen to him and just let things happen. Well anyways, as she approached the three people that owed her money, they turned around to look at her.

“Hey tea house lady, so what do we owe the pleasure of your presence here in this dump.” One of them said. The pub owner hears this and shot a glare at him. Acting like they have no clue! I'll show them!

“I’m here for my money! Why else would I be here?!” *dramatic pause* "Where is my money?!"

"Hey sweet thing. So how you doing?" One of them said to her as he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled him on his lap. She pushed herself off him and slapped him.

“Don’t you sweet thing me you scoundrels! Touch me again and I’ll show you the way to hell! You all know that you owe me money! Now pay or I‘ll just have to hire one of these people here to rip you to shreds, so pay up!!!”

With that threat she made, one of them grabbed her and snatched a necklace from her neck. One of them held her back and the other held a knife to her throat. The one that took her necklace was standing there in front of her examining the piece of jewelry. He had a grin on his face and chuckled as he looked at her.

“You‘re a rich girl aren’t you?! Men, this is our lucky day. Here in front of us is a member of a really wealthy family." *showing the family emblem to the other guys* "Maybe we could use her as ransom or something. The boss will like her.”

“What!? Let me go right now! I‘m going to scream if you don‘t let me go and the patrol will be all over you!”

“I don’t think you should do that because the moment they show up I’ll take this knife and slit your throat.”

“Go ahead and do that!!! That’ll earn you a bounty on your head! How do you plan on keeping your descriptions hidden for everyone here is watching you! All my family has to do is pay one of these people and that‘s it! You’re done! So I advise you all to not go down that path! Now release me and I‘ll pardon you all, but you still owe me money. I’ll give you all a year to pay me back. Now release me!”

“I guess we’ll go with ransom. We'll be rich that way. I wonder how your family is willing to pay for you back.” Then one of them threw her over his shoulders and carried her out of the place kicking and screaming.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki sees these events unfold and decides to take action... so he calls the waitress over and orders another bottle of sake and adds it to akuma's tab...

[Akuma]

:P No Jessica Simpson or WTF in Feudal Japan! *whaps*

"What a stupid girl..." Akuma mumbles to himself.

He orders a water from the bar and goes to sit down with it - ignoring the eccentric girl and the kidnapping taking place at the time. Akuma flops down in his chair with a long sigh.

Bah...hmm...that girl - I wonder if she is worth anything? Worth me taking the three of those guys out to get the ransom myself? I don't know...they don't seem to worry about her rich parents...and yet...hmm...this could be a worthwhile opportunity. They say to seize them when presented...maybe...

He turns to Yuki and Poporo, offering them both a short nod before swiftly rising from his chair and standing in front of the group trying to remove Mitsue.

"I couldn't help but overhear the dilemma, gentlemen. I'll have to ask that you just leave the stupid girl here and walk out - forgetting this." He smiles pleasantly to them.

I hope my new 'recruits' help me out...I might need to come up with a better way of getting their attention. Perhaps I could try snapping next time...

[moses]

Kurokami swiftly but silently gets up. Cooly he walks over to the group of novice bandits holding Mitsue. "Pardon me, my lady." he says. And then faster then anyone could see, he draws his wakizashis and slays the man holding the knife on her. He grabs the leader and puts one wakizashi accross his throat. "Now, no one else will bother the lady, RIGHT!" he shouted. The man with the sword to his throat began to beg, "Please, i can give you money, women, anything!" "Frankly, I dont like to be bribed." responded Kurokami. With a flick of his wrist the man fell dead.

[Akuma]

Akuma raises his eyebrow as Kurokami makes short work of them.

Wha...what the hell? Who is THIS punk?

"Hey! She's my ransom! I want that money, damnit..."

Akuma looks over to Yuki and Poporo, hoping they are paying SOME attention.

Grr...help me out you fools!

He snaps his fingers twice, and performs a summoning motion.

[moses]

just to let u know im not in Bakemono but im currently owned by yumi and nekos her sister

"Well, your two whelps over there seem like easy work, but you may be fun. But for now I'm gonna have to say that we dont fight." Kurokami said. He continued to stay on the alert though. "There would be no ransom for you to gain, as the family memebers would rather just take pleasure in killing you, for touching one of them with your filthy hands." With that Kurokami grabs Mitsue's wrist and takes her back to his table, where he can keep a better eye on her.

[Akuma]

Akuma scowls. "Whelps? You think that because you took out a few punks you're some sort of fighter, huh? Well let me tell you something...I'm not afraid of you or some clueless rich family. I know the type. They drop to their knees and beg when confronted with something like the death of their 'beloved' girl. Some halfwit bodyguard like you isn't going to get in my way."

He smirks slyly as the two go back to the table. "You're bloodthirsty when you see those thugs...but you run from me? Perhaps you know of me, then? Rumors must have already reached this town..."

[Slots]

Hiramaki walks into the pub and surveys the scene. He blinks a few times and then opens his mouth. Closing it again with a confused look on his face he tries again.

"uhm.... sorry wrong building."

He slowly backs out of the pub.

[MitsueNeko]

Kurokami pulls her to sit at his table. She crossed her arms and looked away from him. She was angry and gave him the silent treatment. Then couldn't handle the silence, she got up and slapped him across the cheek.

"THAT'S FOR SAVING ME!!! YOU THINK I'M THAT HELPLESS?!" She snaps her head to the direction of Akuma and takes out a shuriken and throws it, aiming at him, but it misses.

"AND YOU SIR!!! SHUT UP!!! OPEN YOUR MOUTH WHEN SOMEONE CARES!!!! MY FAMILY IS NOT CLUELESS!!! I'LL SHOW YOU CLUELESS FAMILY!!!" *throws another shuriken* "YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY FAMILY OR SOMETHING?! IF YOU DO YOU SAY IT TO ME, DON'T YOU SAY THOSE STUFF ABOUT THEM!!! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THEM!!!" With that being said she went back to her seat, cross her arms and faced the dark corner. Wonder what they'll do now... heheheheh......

[moses]

Kurokami, by now expects this outbreaks, watches silently. He also knew thay Neko's aim was bad so there was nothing to worry about. He signalled the waitress and ordered a bottle of sake and some dumplings.

[Akuma]

"YOU'RE RIGHT! I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOUR DAMN FAMILY - EXCEPT I KNOW THE FACT THEY DON'T WATCH AFTER THEIR STUPID, HELPLESS LITTLE GIRL!" Akuma retorts angrily. "I'll open my mouth whenever the hell I want. No little brat will tell me otherwise."

He releases a soft sigh, which turns into a chuckle. "How about you, sir?" He looks at Kurokami. "She doesn't like you much...eh? Who are you to her, anyway? My curiosity has been piqued."

[glowsticknation]

Yuki finishs off his second bottle of sake and turns to akuma and says, "hey... akuma... we need to get some women in here... not that i want to... you know... kill em... i just want someone fun to drink sake with... cause lets face it... you've got one eye... and poporo is, well, just look at him!"

Yuki pauses

"Where'd my pants go?" says yuki as he looks down to find that he has lost his pants. "did you steal them mittens? why i aughta" Yuki stands up to go ask mittens in more private quarters and passes out on the floor

[Akuma]

He glances down at Yuki for a moment. Great...there goes my support.

"Idiot..." Akuma mutters under his breath before returning his attention to Kurokami.

[moses]

"Well sir, my relationship to this women is through her sister. That is all that I need to reveal." replies Kurokami to Akuma's question. As he is saying this the waitress arrives with the sake and food. Kurokami begins eating and sees that Neko is not. He taps her on the head and says "Eat." Pointing at the food.

[Akuma]

"Why do you choose to remain in a place like this if you're supposed to be taking care of her? Shouldn't you run on back to some private estate and continue leading your pathetic, pampered life?" He smirks, trying to taunt him some more. "You may be arrogant enough to think that you're unstoppable...but trust me - someday you'll have to wise up and realize the whole world isn't comprised of goons like the ones you just killed. You had better realize it before someone is forced to show it to you."

[moses]

Kurokami finishes the dumblings he was eating and then says, "Pampered life!?" Chuckling he says, "Maybe you don't know who i am, but im not a pampered punk. Also, i have met a few who i couldnt kill, but they couldnt kill me either. So Ill take my chances." And with that he grabbed a bowl of sake and downed it, waiting to see Akuma's response.

[Akuma]

He grins. "If you so great - why are you here babysitting instead of...oh...doing something worthwhile with your time?" Akuma chuckles quietly.

[moses]

"I am bound to this girl for the time being." Kurokami sneered. "And I wouldnt be so high and mighty, your backup is based out on the floor. And without pants i might add. You should be carefull, or you might become something more worth my time." Kurokami continued.

[Akuma]

He shrugs, somewhat embarassed. "He isn't my back-up. He's just a crazy man I found...but hey - I could use a few crazy men sometimes."

He glances down at Yuki for one moment then back to Kurokami.

"Bound you say? What - is she going to be your wife in a few years or something? Or does the lord you serve assign you to this menial duty?"

[glowsticknation]

Yuki, while still passed out, rolls over and onto akuma's feet...

the pungent smell shoots yuki back to reality and he starts yelling, "oh no, the demons are gonna get me!"

after a moment of flailing around saying such things he realizes that the horrid demons were just akuma's toes... yuki stands up and walks out of the tavern only to take a step to the left of the door and lay down to go back to sleep

[moses]

"No, and i have no lord. Now please, Im trying to eat."

[Akuma]

"Then what is your reason to be bound to her? Don't tell me you need money so much that you lower yourself to such a thing..."

[moses]

Kurokami ignores Akuma and continues eatting.

[Akuma]

He grins widely. "For a man so confident in his skills you are quite cowardly about your status in life...you're just someone dog, aren't you? Tell me...or is your pride so broken that you can no longer speak of it?"

[moses]

Kurokami, now mad at not being able to eat in peace, turns toward Akuma. "Well since you insist.." he starts. But then he draws one of his kunai and throws it at Akuma's hat. He follows this by drawing anouther and slashing it at Akuma's obi.

[Akuma]

Akuma's body remains perfectly still as he sees the first kunai and feels the 'whoosh' of his hat flying from his head and pinning against the wall. As soon as he sees the second he pulls a sai from somewhere hidden in his garb and attempts to catch the kunai within the handle and twist the point of Kurokami's blade to the side.

"Pretty fast I suppose. I was always partial to a fight with daggers." His grin widens further as he reaches for another sai on his person using his free hand and quickly makes a thrust at his foe's chest.

[moses]

Kurokami's intrest sparks as he sees his second kunai blocked. Figuring his opponet would have a second on him, he was already edging his hand to wakizashi. Drawing it he gets it infront of the sai to stop it. "Well, as i said I really dont wanna fight." Kurokami sadly said. "But you seem to give me no choice."

[Akuma]

He looks his opponent in the eyes, both of his weapons locked against Kurokami's.

"I'm curious, that's all my friend. Why a man as confident and..." He smiles genuinely for the first time. "...skilled as you are finds himself unable to speak of his occupation. You're the type of fighter I could use and I don't want to have to hurt you either. Now - do you still refuse to tell me?"

[moses]

"Lets just say i had some.... minor complications, on a mission. And as my punishment I must watch over certain people..." And after saying that, Kurokami pushed hard on the sai.

[Akuma]

He gently turns his wrist to divert some of the force while still keeping him at a stalemate while he talks. "Perhaps my associates and I could be of some assisstance to you...perhaps...you let us get the ransom on that girl - and we'll help free you of any...previous debts?"

[moses]

"As I have already told you, the family will not pay a ransom. They would come at you. And no, there is no debt to be payed off. Now please, not infront of the lady." replied Kurokami, pushing a little harder.

[Akuma]

"I find it hard to believe a rich family like that would not pay up if push comes to shove, no matter what you say. I am not one to give in if I hold the girl...this 'honor' you demonstrate is going to be your downfall someday. I take it you're a member of this family, hm? Who are they?"

[moses]

"I dont serve a family, I merely am in service of a person of the family. The family's name I am not in title to reveal. And honor. Funny that you speak of that. Its something that has plagued me my entire life. Its just that i dont want to the girl to see this yet." Kurokami said

[Akuma]

"I referred to the fact that you're willing to fight for this family...no one is holding you down and making you - are they? So why do you insist on protecting her? This is a punishment...as far as things go in my life - someone who intends to 'punish' you is your enemy. To give in to them is pathetic. You've become their slave."

[moses]

"Hahaha give in. I consider it a chance for some good recon, free food and shelter, and some good women. Also some work to hold me over"

[glowsticknation]

Yuki throws another lit firework into the tavern and says, "will you two kids stop horsing around? daddy is trying to catch some shut-eye"

[Akuma]

"You're trying to tell me you're hard pressed for work?" He smirks. "I was never much for serving any lord but myself...but it seems like if it's a job you wanted you could easily find one. You say what you say now and don't realize you're already their pet."

[Shina]

The doorway of the tavern fills with the silhouette of a young woman. A plain, tan tunic covers her wiry form as she holds onto a long walking staff. She blinks several times, getting used to the light in the tavern, and pushes her hip-length braid of hair over her shoulder.

Finally adjusted, her eyes take a sweeping glance over the room. Seeing the two men posed for combat and the girl near them...the woman raises one eyebrow curiously.

“What on earth...?” she whispers to herself. With a shrug of her shoulders she walks in and leans against the wall, her staff cradled in her hands...and a smirk playing at her lips. She watches the scene unfold.

[Kiros]

Soon after the overly dramatic entrance of the women, just playing with ya a broad looking man walks in. Ignoring the events taking place he passes the women leaning up agenst the wall. His expressions deepen, and he looks away just as she looks to him. He continues to take his seat near the bar counter, and says nothing more as he stares blankly at the ceiling.

[Shina]

Thaaaanks... The woman watches the man enter, contemplating on moving to join him, but decides against it. Instead, she remains in her place against the wall.

[Kiros]

The man, sits quietly, continuing to stare at the ceiling, but more is taking place then just that. He was feeling, examining, everyones aura within the room. Finding some pretty interesting ones to the looks of it as he twitched once in a while. Finally he stopped, looking first to the man with the girl, then to the three men talking, and lastly to the girl agesnt the wall. What a find.. he thought to himself.

[Akuma]

Akuma hears the sizzling of the fuse from Yuki's firework behind him. His eye opens wide as he finally places where he recognizes that noise from.

He looks up at Kurokami. "Umm...is there an explosive behind me?" He gulps after saying this.

[Shina]

>< Messa a newb... She meets the man's stare with a smirk. Bored, she pushes herself off the wall and walks to him, her staff hanging loosely at her side.

"May I join you?" she askes, leaning forward on her staff.

[Akuma]

Glow! You can't just kick someone without any sort of consent. You have to make an attempted kick...and then let them accept it or dodge/block etc etc..

[Shina]

*seconds Akuma's statement*

[Shina]

She raises an eyebrow, still leaning on her staff infront of the man.

"Well...? Have you gone mute or something..."

[Kiros]

After sitting for a while, the man shot up and stated, "Miss please forgive me, i must leave." The man abrutly pushes past the girl causeing her to lose her balance on her staff, and with that he leaves the pub.

Happy akuma??

[Shina]

The woman glares at the man and catches herself before she falls. Jerk... Seeing his spot empty, she takes his place at the table.

She sets her staff down next to her, the long pole covering a full 4 feet. As she becons a waitress to order, she returns to observing the tavern. Her dark eyes dart casually around, surveying "this" and "that".

Finally, the waitress returns with her water, and the woman sits back to watch...

[Slots]

The man that had entered the bar earlier once more walked through the entrance. Ok, after going into EVERY building in thes god foresaken town... this was the right place. Why am I always second guessing myself?! After looking around the room he noticed that two men were at a stand still with weapons drawn. Ugh, everyone in this place wants a fight. Freaks...

Hiramaki walked to the end of the bar closest to the door. Now I wonder where that fool got too. He sat there waiting for the person he was looking for.

[Akuma]

Before hearing Kurokami's response - a large thundering noise (not to mention a semi-spectacular light show) filled the entire room. Akuma was tossed from his opponent by the force of the exploding firecracker. He rolled off to the side coughing several times, finally stopping only to look up at the black, hazy smoke.

"Damnit! I'm really starting to hate fireworks..." He mumbles, pulling himself up. His eye squinted as he tried to see where Kurokami had gone, clutching both of his sai tightly between his fingers.

[Shina]

Startled, the woman spills her water at the sound of the blast. A moment later, her staff is posed, ready for aggression.

When she sees that the blast was caused by a firecracker, she hurries to the other side of the tavern to see if anyone was hurt.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki walks in after his firework exploded all over and place and says "alright, im done horsing around for today, you guys do what you were doing"

Upon finishing Yuki finds the table Akuma was previously seated at and lays down in the corner near it to go to sleep

[moses]

Useing the temperary distraction, Kurokami sits down and sheathes his swords.
'Lets hope we dont have to fight again' he thought to himself.

[Shina]

Hehehe...Akuma was waiting for you and finally left Satisfied that no one is in dire need, Shina returns to her table and props her staff upon it. She orders another glass of water. Drinking lazily, her gaze continues to watch the tavern.

[Slots]

Hiramaki calmy sits at the bar and sips the tea he had ordered throughout the entire explosion and ensuing chaos. Bored with waiting he pulls out small piece of paper and procceeds to draw a stick figure fight. Where could they be? They said they'd be here almost an hour ago!

Hiramki continued to doodle on the paper.

[MitsueNeko]

Sitting in the corner and trying to ignore what was going on, she ate some of the food while watching what was going on. Well it is true that 'they' will kill instead of paying the ransom. He raised his voice to me and dared to call me a stupid girl and brat. That's very brave to say to a lady such as myself. This guy looks okay. He seems dangerous, which is good and his attitude is intolerable. Which is really nice. Maybe he'll be the next? After the fireworks went off, she sees Kurokami going back to his seat. When everything cleared she decided she has had enough of this and gets up.

"Okay! This is starting to get boring so I'm leaving. See you at the inn Kurokami. Be late and you'll end up scrubbing the floors. And no fighting the nice man. Whatever his name is." *looking to Akuma* "If you want to know what family I belong to, here." *Tosses her necklace to Akuma* "That's the family I belong to. Now I'm going now. Need to catch up on some sleep and Kurokami, since you killed those scoudrals, you have to pay me their debt. Next time think before you start killing people. Sheesh. Maybe I should convince my sister to let you go since she got you so trained. You need to be among your kind..." *sighs*

She walks to the door, but then some people rushed past her causing her to lose her balance and fall down. The people not noticing her just went over to Hiramaki's table. "Hey watch it you jerks! People these days! Don't even know how to take it easy!" She then walks out of the pub, but stops because she forgot something so she goes back in.

"Hey Mister." She said to Akuma. "You could keep that necklace if you want. I don't care anymore since those creeps touched it."

[Kiros]

Outside the pub, it begins to rain gently. The man who had rushed out of the pub a while back stood just beside the doorway, listening intently. With the calming of the pub and the appearence of rain, the man seemed to relax, looks like everything will turn out okay afterall..

[Akuma]

Akuma snatches the girl's necklace from the air and snorts softly. Well...at least I made off with this thing. I bet it's worth something. He quietly puts it away somewhere on his person.

His lips curl into a smirk as he turns to Kurokami, now that most of the smoke has cleared. "Well now there isn't much of a point in fighting you...the girl has already gone - and she answered the questions I asked you. Why don't you just get on back to her sister and scrub the floors?" He snickered to himself. "To think for a moment I thought you a worthwhile opponent...you're just a house servant, 'Kurokami.'" He quietly hides both of his sai and walks off to a table across the room alone.

[moses]

Continues eatting and remains silent.

[glowsticknation]

Starts snoring

[Kiros]

Grins graciously at the rain.

Haha, this would be the perfect time, for a theme song to play..

[Shina]

Shina glances around the tavern.

Someone do something.... -_-

[ShininShado]

Shinin opens the door to the pub and walks in. Wearing a dark green robe and wielding no weapon, his eyes sweep the room and he walks gingerly to the bar. He says a few words to the barkeep, and exchanges a handful of koku for three small bags. "These will go great with my healing salves," he thinks to himself.

On his way out he sees Shina eyeing the room. He surmises she is looking for something/someone. He walks over and asks: "Hello m'am, not many in these parts wield a bo staff, from what district do you hail?"

[Shina]

Shina grins and pats her staff.

"Yes, it is unusual...but quite unseemingly and very useful." She holds out her hand to him. "I'm Shina, and you are?"

[Kiros]

The wind shifts and the rain begins to hail down from the sky. Something is coming, i best get inside Without anothing thought Kiros re-enters the Pub he was so quick to leave. Upon entering he takes notice to the new member amoungst the crowd. I didnt even notice this man enter. How could he slip past me so easily undetected A little shocked Kiros take a seat near the door and waits like a cat for a mouse, eyeing the new visitor suspiously, nerves on end.

[ShininShado]

Shinin takes Shina's hand and shakes it gently. "I am Shinin Shado, good to meet you m'am." He notices Shina's hand is soft and supple to the touch, not the feel of someone who works with their hands much.

[Akuma]

Akuma snaps his fingers for a waitress to come over, still smug after his little chat with Kurokami.

"Water." He tells the woman before sending her off. Akuma stretches his arms a few times and cracks his knuckles while he waits for her to come back.

Ahh...despite how I mocked you - you do seem to have the qualities of a fighter, Kurokami. Perhaps we'll meet again someday when you're free...

He tips his hat down, concealing his face as he casually sips at his water.

I think I'm going to like this town.

[Shina]

A smile plays at her lips, and with a subtle motion of her hand, she indicates the seat across from her to Shinin.

"Pleased to meet you Shinin Shado...might you have a seat? I've yet to meet many people in this town." Shina brushes back a lock of loose hair from her braid, using the distraction to take one last sweep of the tavern before returning her attention to the man.

[ShininShado]

Shinin brushes off his robes and nods. "Thank you." The stout Shinin sits in the seat and ponders Shina's intentions in the pub. "What business do you have here m'am?" Shinin notices some drunk bastard fall to the ground murmuring something about a revolution... the stale smell of saki fills the air, as the rain pours outside.

[Shina]

She raises an eyebrow, amused.

"My business...to have a nice drink...meet the populace...Where else can you learn of the people than where the people gather?" Shina leans her forarms against the table. "And you, sir...what probes you to ask?"

[Kiros]

Slow soulful jazz begins to wash over the pub... just kidding..

Kiros, begins to relax his hand posed over a cup of sake. His gaze wounders up toward the ceiling. Thats one good looking ceiling...

[ShininShado]

"To be honest, you have an intriguing look in your eye." Shinin collects his thoughts and finishes; "You drink water in a pub... and carry a bo staff... I thought you might study the laws of Buddha, but then why would you be here?" The true reason for Shinin's question known, he awaits an answer patiently.

[moses]

Kurokami, having finished his food, sees Shinin Shado enter the pub. He gets up, deciding to see if he can go visit his friend's monastary soon. Walking over to the talk he addresses shina, "Excuse me, miss." And turning to Shinin, " Hello! How have you been friend?"

[Shina]

"An intriguing look...?" Shina bows her head, chuckling softly. "And no...I not not, sorry all...noooot....*is not thinking straight* do study the laws of Buddha. I merely find that to stay sober, is much...shall I say, safer?" She glances up at him. "I must say, I'm merely a traveler, taking in the world as I can..."

[ToshiMaru]

Before the peace and tranquility of the pub continued, someone thrashed open the doors that lead into the bar. One of the side doors slammed into Kiros' face as we was sitting closely to the doors. Along came in a group of masked men. They all wore a ninja outfit, their faces were covered with scarves, and they wore straw hats. There was about fifteen of them, and they all rushed inside the pub; glaring at everyone.

A passing of eyes came to everyone for a short while, then a man came in. he looked like the others, but his outfit was a different from theirs.

"Alright! Now! WHO HERE IS THE TOUGHEST OF YOUZ!?" :hijacked:

[ShininShado]

Shinin acknowledges KuroKami, and says "Old friend! Welcome, have a seat, this is Shina," gesturing towards Shina. "Shina was just explaining her travels some to me... and all I came here for was to get some herbs for some salves!!" About that time the band of hooligans enters the pub. He notices their swords are dull and their clothes are ragged and torn. The band of ninjas look pathetic, he watches the action unfold, unmoving from his seat.

[Shina]

Shina sits up a little straighter and peers at the men bursting into the tavern. Her eye brow arches curiously.

[moses]

Kurokami turns from Shinin and looks at the band that just broke into the bar. "It matters who wants to know?" he replies to the question.

[Kiros]

Kiros eyes center focasing on a crack in the ceiling, ...damnit im always right..

[Akuma]

Akuma glances up from under his hat - his eye opened wide as he looks over the very...strange intrusion.

This was unexpected.

He flashed a wicked grin and slowly rose up from his chair, cackling softly.

"Well, it would obviously be me."

Cheap, fake ninja...there would be no reason a group would come into here for such a pointless reason. I can take care of some pathetic thugs and show off in the process.

[Shina]

Hearing Akuma's statement, Shina turns her head around to the man. What on...

[Kiros]

Kiros, looks over at the man with the hat. haha you. the strongest?? Maybe the hard headed.. but im not sure it goes beyond that Kiros stands up. Facing the entranceway.

[ShininShado]

Shinin throws a chopstick at Kiros' head... "Now gentlemen (using that term loosely), let's not create a scene here." Shinin turns to Shina and starts a joke..."Sooo 15 ninjas walk into a pub, and the bartender says..."

[Shina]

Nervous, Shina grabs her staff and slowly gets to her feet. She does her best to melt into the background as everyone's attention is focused on the ninjas.

[Kiros]

A Kiros turns to look at the man who abruptly enter, a chopstick pelts him square in the temple. :hitwithro Kiros drops to the floor. :knockedou :knockedou :knockedou TKO

[moses]

Kurokami resumes his conversation with Shinin, seeing as the ninjas are just standing there silent. "So, anyway. I was planning on coming by the monastary soon. Ive been very disorganized in my life and i beleive that a week or two of mediating and spiritual growing would be good for me."

[Shina]

Shina murmers a small apology to the two men at her table as she sinks against the wall, hiding in the shadows.

Using the distraction, Shina manages to slip into a back room undetected.

[ShininShado]

I envision these ninjas dressed up like MC Hammer back-up dancers, or waiters at a French dining establishment.



Shinin turns to one of the ninjas and orders a water from him... "Waiter, I"ll have a water, what will you have m'am?" Just then he sees Shina take off...

He then turns to KuroKami and says; "Sorry, sure, anytime brother, you are always welcome at the monastery."

[moses]

"Thank you my friend. So how goes your life?" he asks Shinin, ignoring the ninjas.

[Kiros]

Lying on the floor... memories drift though the vancant mind of Kiros. His eyes open, once more staring at the ceiling.. Lesson #1: Staring at the Ceiling is dangerous With that noted, he sits up looking around for anymore projectiles.

[Akuma]

Akuma begins walking slowly towards the entrance of the room - focused on their leader.

Heh heh...the fun never stops. I'll go through these guys like I went through the guards from my old village...what a great way to gain reputation.

"Well - you found me..." He said, arrogance overflowing in his tone. "Is there something in particular you need?"

[moses]

Kurokami decides Kiros needs anouther and throws a sake bottle at him....

[Kiros]

Kiros raises a hand, "Waiter, I could use more sake!!" A bottle lands in Kiros' hand.. WTF... Then he takes a long sip.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki wakes up with all the hubub and throws another lit firework at the commotion

[Kiros]

As Kiros sips down the bottle of sake, a stick rolls towards him. Not giving it much thought he picks it up and tosses it at the waste bin.

[ShininShado]

Astounded at the recent events in the pub, Shinin says to KuroKami; "Life is good old friend. I have no complaints."

Shinin then notices the drunk bastard that passed out earlier talking about a revolution was the leader of the ninjas.

[moses]

"That is good, how goes the recruiting for the cause?" as in teh family

[ShininShado]

"It goes, the life of virtue isn't for everyone, but it suits me fine."

[moses]

"Heh, but isnt that the case for all jobs?" lets get some philosophy in the pub!

[Kiros]

Kiros gets up, shakes himself off, pretty dazed from the current events. Slowly he stumbled over to the table where he could have sworn he was assulted. "May I join you two." Kiros manages to say with a smile, his forhead brusied.

[ShininShado]

"Sure sir, have a seat."

[ToshiMaru]

Given the fact that the group was just ignored as if nothing happend. The leader became furious with rage he lunged out an arm torwards Akuma as he was walking torwards the door. The leader grabbed Akuma's neck and pulled him in. "And who are you? THE ONE WHO CLAIMS TO BE THE STRONGEST??!"

[Kiros]

Kiros is about to take his seat, when he hears yet another rambling from the entrance, i need more sake

[Akuma]

His eye stared right back at the leader. "The one who is the strongest." He said, calm as can be. His body remained almost completely still, his grin insanely wide at this point.

[ToshiMaru]

The leader drops Akuma on the ground and spoke again to everyone.

"LADIES AND MEN IN GREEN DRESSES!"
"I AM NONICHI HIGAWA, of the Nonichi SuperMen Monks Sect!"
"i AM HERE TO OFFER THE STRONGEST OF YOUZ A JOB!"
"I COME HERE TO THIS RABBLE ON BEHALF OF MY BOSS! WHO EVER IS INTERESTED IN THIS JOB WILL BE PAID 400 GOLD PEICES UP FRONT!"

"now, if anyone here thinks they are strong enough for the job, then follow me outside!"

[Akuma]

Akuma shrugs. Well not exactly what I wanted - but hey I'm never one to turn down easy cash.

"Whatever. Is this going to take a long time?" He proceeds to follow the man out the door.

[ShininShado]

Shinin watches as everyone in the bar follows the mysterious man. A set of Siamese Twins follows the man. Before long the whole bar is heading outside. Shinin has a headache for all the commotion, and decides to take the herbs he came for and leaves...

[Kiros]

Kiros, listens, and cant believe what hes hearing.. pathetic.. what is this guy thinking.. he then downs the rest of his sake, and makes his way to the door.

[Akuma]

Calling it a night. Therefore everything stops here until I say otherwise! Nah just kidding don't do anything too drastic though while I"m gone...

[Kiros]

throws a chopstick at shinin.. darn you

[Slots]

"huh...? wha...t?"

Hiramaki rubbed his head as he woke up on the bar. ugh, I must have passed out from all that searching I did. Whatever that guy won't be getting his sword anytime soon. Hiramaki looked around to see a bunch of poorly equiped ninja leave the pub as wel as some of the customers. Weird, must have been some sort of challenge.

"I want to go see what this is about."

He got up, walked to the door and saw Shinin sitting at a table wit ha bemused look on his face. Hiramaki walked over to Shinin's table.

"I will take you up on your offer. I will move my wares near your monastary in about a month. Now if you will excuse me, I want to see what those 'ninja' are up too."

He went out the door.

[glowsticknation]

Is still asleep on the floor and is unmoved by the commotion he has missed in his sleep

anyone else find it humorous how my character has been present in all this and is entirely unaffected?

Shinin says to Hiramaki; "That's great! We could use a good blacksmith!" He bows to Hiramaki and says; "Travel well sir, I must depart this tavern, I have business to attend to."

[Shina]

Hearing some of the commotion outside die down, Shina re-enters the main area of the tavern and takes a cautious look around. Her hand grips her staff loosely, but no less defensive.

[Kiros]

Nearing the doory Kiros stops, "Glad you re-joined the party, come out side, see whats progressed.." he says to no one in perticular, then makes his way into the
street just outside.

[Shina]

Shina raises an eyebrow and walks outside...up beside Kiros and looks over his shoulder curiously.

This moved outside? *didn't read closely* ><

[Kiros]

Lol ya, it did move outside, most of the people are outside trying to prove they are the strongest, for 400 gold or something upfront, im going outside to see what happens, i think you should fight Shina, show em what your made of!!

[Shina]

Okies, here now. Yeah yea yeah....kiros *laugh*

Shina straightens up and pits the end of her staff against the ground. Her eyes dart from the ninjas to the crowd...and a small smile grows on her lips. With a chuckle, she stands beside Kiros watching.

[Shina]

this is for you akuma...(spelling?)....*bump*

[glowsticknation]

smiles as he opens his eyes and sees shina take up a position next to kiros and thinks "uh oh, i smell trouble... and by trouble i mean shina being attracted to kiros"

Yuki stands up from the ground and walks over to the bar and stands there like a statue for no apparent reason... as a matter of fact, he does this for no reason at all

[Kiros]

Kiros, looks over his shoulder at Shina. is glow right?? and how come i can hear his thoughts..

[glowsticknation]

wonders how he can hear kiros' thoughts as well... and in a confused rage throws a sake glass at kiros' head

[Kiros]

Its just too bad, that Kiros is outside and Glow is inside. So there is a wall seperating them. :sly: Kiros starts to laugh Guess what glow, now i can bug you just by thinking about it!

[glowsticknation]

Yuki is aggravated by the presence of a wall, so he walks outside and throws a lit firework at shina

[Kiros]

Kiros, pulls Shina behind him, and thrusts his fist at the firework, but instaed grabs it. Confused Kiros looks at it.. "Hey this isnt lit.. do you want me to light it for you??"

[glowsticknation]

Yuki realises his mistake and runs away in fear of shina responding with her staff instead of her words

"See you later kiros... go buy me a horse and i'll come back" yells yuki as he runs off into the horizon

[Shina]

Shina steps away from Kiros and glares back at the man who threw the firecracker. She then looks at the firecracker.

"And er...I'd rather not have my face blown up" she states with a smirk.

[Kiros]

Kiros, stares as glow disappears in the distance... not really paying any attention to what was going on around him. Then pockets Glow's firework.

[Shina]

"Where'd he run off to in such a hurry..."

[Kiros]

Kiros snaps back to reality.. his eyes softening as he looked into Shina's eyes. "He needs a horse.."

[Shina]

"A...horse. Riiight." She blinks a few times in confusion.

With a bored glance toward the men, she tightens her grip on her staff. "Well, this party seems on the dull side." Shina then turns to walk back into the tavern.

[Kiros]

Kiros puts his hand on Shina's shoulder, his eyes piercing into her soul... ".. yes.. a horse.."

[Shina]

At his touch, Shina tenses and whips her head back around to glance at him.

Her voice cool and calm..."And why would he need a horse?"

[Kiros]

"His knee hurts, you see he lit his pants on fire, and he couldnt get them out, and when he went to blow it out, it burned his knee more.. " Kiros' stare wanders over the shoulder of Shina.

[Shina]

She turns her head to see where and what he's looking at.

[Kiros]

Kiros, looks at Glow, dully. Then his eyes become that of someone who has seen a ghost. Kiros moves past Shina and Glow, to a bulliten borad posted on the side of the pub and notices a familar sight. "Holy $!%@! Im famous!"

[Shina]

She stares at the wanted poster, and then her gaze shifts cooly back to Kiros...obvioulsy seeing it is him. Her hand descretely tightens on her staff as she stands loosely.

"Aye, it would seem you are..."

Her gaze studies him, wondering...how hard could he be to take down? This...man who pleasures food so easily. Shina smirks.

[Kiros]

Kiros looks carfully at the wanted sign and the looks at Shina, then busts out with a face simular to that on the poster. "What do you think?? Am I doing it right?"

[Shina]

???about the love for food???

Her staff exchanges hands, and Shina slowly walks toward him, a strange look in her eye...though masked by a pleasant smile.

"Oh, I think you two are an exact match."

[glowsticknation]

Yukie lights a firecracker and shoots it at shina's head

[Shina]

Shina hears the sound of the burning firecracker, and bends over, letting the firecracker pass over her and fall towards Kiros.

[Shina]

She ignores the man who threw the firecracker. I'll deal with him later... Instead, she focuses her attention on the foolish Kiros, immitating his wanted poster.

[Kiros]

Kiros, still posing like the warent poster, his hand posed to grasp a donut, but insteand finds a lit fircracker..

[Shina]

With a quick swish of her staff, Shina knocks the firecracker from his hand and comes closer.

"I don't think you'll be wanting that..."

She then takes the staff in both of her hands. In a quiet voice, she asks "Is that really 1,000,000 yen...?"

[Kiros]

"Yes, I issued this bounty on myself eight years ago, this is the first ive seen of it, IM SO HAPPY! You see, in that way i would become famous.. seeing its travelled as far as I have, thats great progress! The bounty is real, and I do have that kind of money" Kiros looks slyly at Shina.

[Shina]

Shina's mouth involuntarily drops open.

[Kiros]

"Its seems you have found me, do you really disire that 1,000,000 Yen?? If so you may have it with the condition, that you tell no one, that way the rumor of my warrent will spread." Kiros smilies at Shina oddly.

[glowsticknation]

yuki throws a donut towards shina's gaping mouth

[Shina]

Blocks the donut.

"That's IT!" she shouts and spins around to face Yuki. Her staff is clenched in her hands as she lunges at the man.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki is already 200m away, so begins to run away from shina with his incredible lead

[Shina]

Shina bursts into a full sprint...and as she catches up with Yuki, she sends her staff flying in circles at amazing speed...straight for Yuki's back.

[glowsticknation]

Yukie ducks under the staff and then hops on a nearby horse to ride away from shina at full steam...

[Kiros]

Kiros jumps at the donut mid-air, catching it in his teeth. Half choking Kiros stammers "Hazarph.. m-its been AGES!!"

[Shina]

Cursing profusely, She catches up with where her staff landed on the ground. She slowly makes her way back to the tavern.

"what are you looking at?" Her eyes focus angrily on Kiros once she reaches the tavern door.

[Kiros]

Kiros stops Shina, offering her some of his donut.

[Akuma]

Momentarily Akuma turns away from the ninja-monk leader to raise an eyebrow at the hooligans about, but quickly dismisses any care he might've had and returns to business.

I want my upfront payment now so I can just kill these idiots and take it...

Toshi! Post!! Rrgh.

[Kiros]

Kiros, downs his donut, his face returning to its statueous form. Then leans back upon the walls of the bulletin in wait for the ninja to begin his self absorbed speeh again.

[Shina]

With a low hiss, Shina stomps back into the tavern to gain back her self control.

[Kiros]

Haha, no donut for you Shina :P

[Shina]

A small cat wanders into the tavern. His shaggy grey hair was a mess from running through puddles and mud. He wandered around the tavern looking for someone to feed him or give him some water. He goes up to one stool and meows at the occupant

Feed me you silly huamn! FOOD IN BELLY!!

Fed up with being ignored he hops up on the bar.

[Shina]

*laughs*

In her "calming", Shina spots the poor cat. For a minute, her face softens into a genuine smile. Setting her staff against the bar, she reaches out and tenatively strokes the back of the cat.

[glowsticknation]

Yuki then reappears in the door of the tavern and fires an arrow right at the cat's head!

[Slots]

Surprised by the attention, the cat turns to the human that stroked his shaggy hair and rubs his head against her arms while purry quietly. Due to the fact that the cat was on the bar, Shina was between him and to door. Glow just shot an arrow at Shina .. tsk tsk...

[glowsticknation]

yuki shrugs off the fact that shina has an arrow comming towards her and jumps back on his horse and rides away

[Shina]

The arrow hits Shina in the shoulder, and with a cry of pain she sinks to the floor.

"You...!" she yells out the door, knowing good and well the coward has already fled. Shina grabs her bleeding shoulder.

[Kiros]

Kiros, looks in the pub at Shina on the floor.." You should get that looked at!"

[Shina]

She curses under her breath. "And yeah, by what crack-doctor??"

[Slots]

Startled by the sudden cry from the human, the cat dives behind the bar.

[Kiros]

Kiros shrugs at Shina and returns to his post on the bulletin.

[Shina]

For a moment, she contemplates on knocking Kiros' head off with her staff...but decides with an arrow in her shoulder, she better not.

Instead, Shina grabs her staff under her arm and clutches her shoulder, trying to reach the arrow to pull it out...but unsucessfully.

"Would any of you fools care to lend a hand? I happen to be staining the floor with blood, thank you very much!"

[Kiros]

Kiros taps Shina on the shoulder, :nana: , "I could perhaps."
I dont know how i got behind you.. lol

[Shina]

She grimances in pain and takes a moment to calm her breath.

"Well, I guess when I'm bleeding I'll take anything I can..." She looks over her shoulder to try and see the wound.

"What can you do?"

[Slots]

The cat catiously hops back on the bar and looks at the people sitting at the bar. He looks at the wounded Shina and mews.

[glowsticknation]

*throws salt on Shina's wound*

[moses]

"Dont let that fool Kiros touch you, he'll only do it wrong." Getting up, Kurokami heads towards Shina. "Allow me, Ive had to do this many times.

[Kiros]

Kiros ponders for a moment, eyeing Shina's wound. "First its gotta come out," Kiros wraps a cloth around Shina's thigh, and says "Looks over there, stupid Glow!" The quickly pulls out the arrow.

[Shina]

She screams.

"You....aaarrrggg!" Shina recoils at the abrupt pulling of the arrow, trying to keep concious with the extreme loss of blood.

[moses]

Kurokami grimaces as he sees the extra damage Kiros causes pulling out the arrow. He also sees the salt that must cause the wound to hurt a hell of alot more. Kurokami reaches into his pack for some ointment. He hands this to Shina and tells her "Apply this to the wound. It will take away the pain and stop infection." He then grabs some bandages to apply once she applies the ointment.

[Slots]

The cat looks at the woman with sadness. He licks her arm in an effort to comfort her.

[ToshiMaru]

As the bunch of wild characters came out of the pub, masses of peaple gave their attention to the group. Everyone surrounded the street with their attention directed to the oddest looking of everyone; the fat man in the ninja outfit.

The people of the town begin murmuring things and passing words among each other, this, however began to irritate the leader, Nonichi Higawa.

"Alright! EVERY SHUT UP, AND ALL OF YOU HERE THAT HAS BEEN CALLED UPON!"

"We, of the Nonichi Supermen Monk Sect. have come here today, to this little rabble of yours, to challenge the toughest of your warriors."

"Who ever defeats my men in the competition will get 400 gold peices for everyone win, AND the last winner WILL get the position of leadership of The Supermen Monk Sect."

"Now lets GET To IT!! :bigeyes:

"The First is our own, Gana Hiori of the Muscle Army!!!!!"

[Kiros]

Kiros leaves the pub, I was my time on humans..

Hiramaki had left the tavern to watch this event. He leaned against the wall of the tavern and watched from the outskirts.

[Akuma]

Akuma licks his lips. Ah, finally our purpose is made known. Well this will certainly be fun.

He flicks his thumb and releases his katana from the saya. Grasping it softly in his right hand, releasing it slowly. A quick flick of his wrist and the tip of the point pointed at the forehead of Gana Hiori.

Kiros, starts off slowly down the street, continuing his journey to an unknown destination.

Kurokami, seeing as Shina went unconcious, takes the ointment and applies it to the wound. He then grabs some bandages and wraps it up. Hoping that would do for now, he looks around for Shinin, a much better healer.

The giant and bicepted muscle-ized man named Gina, Slowly walked up to Akuma, taunted him with his eyes. Gina glared at Akuma with an intended look. "Alright the little man, but i ask you this......Why are you using your weapon??" Gina pulled out a table from out of nowhere, and sat on a seat, in the middle of the street. "I dont FIGHT! I HATE FIGHTING! my challenge to you, little man; is ARM WRESTLING!!" :thinking:

Hiramaki looked at the large muscled man abd blinks. He tries to stifle a laugh as the armed man is awestruck.

Yuki trots up on his horse and looks at the man challenging people to arm wrestling and tries so desperately to not shoot him in the neck with a poisonous dart... so he shoots one at hiramaki

[Shina]

Walking carefully, Shina slips past the crowd to go and rest her wounds.

[Akuma]

"Arm-wrestling?!" Akuma says with a snort. "That's pathetic. What a worthless display." He quickly sheathes his katana and turns his back to the man.

"The size of one's arm is no measure of strength."

the stranger enters the scene completely unaware of any of the events taken place

"oi oi, kozo..... choto mate" he gestures with his hand for akuma to come towards him.

staggering left and right seemingly off balance, probably due to the empty bottle of sake he holds in his left hand. he aproaches akuma, leaning against him almost falling over but holding himself up with the arm he putsover akumas shoulder.

"oi, kozo.... you wouldnt happen to know where the nearest geisha house is do ya?"

he smiles broadly up at akuma, one eye half open the other swimming around trying to get a focus on his face.

he notices his left hand is holding a bottle

"are.....well since this damn sake seems to keep dissapearing... you should tell me where the nearest sake store is too"

he nudges him a few times with his elbow playfully

"with a pretty waitress or two would be good... cant go wrong with that"

[Shina]

Randomly returning from wherever...
Shina takes a seat in the far corner of the tavern, her shoulder bandaged.

[moses]

Kurokami is glad to see that Shina recovered so quickly and he congratulates himself on the good bandaging he did. He orders anouther sake.

[Akuma]

Akuma sighs softly as the poor drunken fool stumbles upon him. "You're in a bar. Here's some cash." He shoves some money in his direction and attempts to get some personal space. "Now take it and get off me."

[Shina]

*bump*

Shina gets up, apparently recovered from her "daze". She makes her way over to Akuma and the drunk man, and leaning on the bar, she orders a glass of water from the bartender.

[Akuma]

Akuma glances at the girl as she walks over, raising an eyebrow curiously. "Who the hell told everyone this place was safe to just walk into?" He grumbles slightly. "One annoying little girl is enough for one day."

[Shina]

Shina glares at him. "Excuse me...but I do believe this is a public tavern. I have every right to go where I please!"

[Akuma]

He cackles manically. "Rights? You only have as much of a right as your sword-" He stops, pausing to smirk. "Or that wooden stick will take you."

[Shina]

With a quick flick of her wrist, Shina twirls the staff into a defensive possition.

"You will find, sir, that power is not always measured by strength, or how sharp your sword is..." Her eyes narrow as she faces Akuma.

[Akuma]

He erupts in laughter. "Oh, now you wanna prove yourself huh? You have more courage than I would've imagined...or maybe you're just uneducated. But I'm not about to waste my sword's edge on you, dear."

[Shina]

She attemps to hit Akuma on the head with a quick downward sweep of her staff.

"Don't bother!" she spits back with menace. "I am not here to 'prove' myself in anything. I'd rather not be insulted as I go to get water from a public tavern you ..." She catches herself, not wanting to let her words cause conflict.

[Akuma]

He sidesteps swiftly, grinning to himself as he feels the force of her staff passing just in front of his face. "My my...there was no need to make this impolite. Me what, girl? You want to be strong-willed...Go ahead. Tell me what I am. "

[Shina]

Shina sets the end of the staff on the ground and holds it rigidly in her right hand. She raises her eyes and straightens her posture.

"Wouldn't you like to know," she states with a cool look in her eye.

[Akuma]

"Your attitude amuses me. What's your name anyway...or should I say 'Pardon me miss...may I please be graced with the mention of your name?'"

[Shina]

Her fists clench, but soon she gives the facade of one calm and mysterious.

"Mmm...and why would I tell you, some brute in the local tavern who picks on wandering travelers?"

[Akuma]

"Who is picking on who? I'm not the one who tried to beat the other with a pole."

[Shina]

"I...you...this..." Shina furrows her brow "Gahst!"

[Akuma]

"So are you going to tell me or not, hmm? Or are you going to try and take my head off with that thing?" He grins widely. "Either way will work for me."

[Shina]

With a slight look of resentment, she studies the man before her. Finally, she lowers the staff to lean on it.

"Fine then. I'm Shina." She stops, and mentions, "and just so the facts are straight, I just don't want to get my staff dirty."

[Akuma]

"Shina huh?" Akuma exhales a quick, forceful breath of air. "Are you from around here? I've never seen you...and you seem to be confused on public this place actually is."

[Shina]

She shakes her head.

"I won't tell you any more till you divulge your own name." Shina leans against the bar, smirking just slightly.

[Akuma]

"I don't have a name. They just call me 'Akuma.'"

[Shina]

A look of doubt forms on Shina's features. "Akuma..." she repeats. "Odd that you have no name. Everyone has a history...whether they like to admit it or not..." With this last statement she leans forward inquizitively.

[Akuma]

"All that you need to know about me is that I will answer to Akuma...and I am the leader of the Akutenshi." He looks off to the side for a moment and then tosses her a sideways glance. "You have heard of us, haven't you?"

[Shina]

"Can't say I have," she says flatly.

[Akuma]

He snorts. "Well put simply...we are the ones who will be running this town in the near future. Ha, status! Ha, title! It will mean nothing. All that matters is your ability to not get killed and always get the better end of the deal at any cost. We are not much now. But listen here, Shina...you had just better remember that name if you plan to stick around here."

[Shina]

"Is that a threat or an invitation?" Shina smirks coyly.

[Akuma]

"A warning, my dear. Invitation? Ha! You actually assume you have what it takes? It's not so easy a life as it may have been for you all along."

[Shina]

"How can you be one to judge? Do you know me? No, you don't. So you have no validity in your 'claim'"

[Akuma]

"Hrmph. Well perhaps it's true you might be tough...obviously it wasn't your looks or social grace that kept you alive this long. And you seem to be without a male protector. You tell me...what do you seek?"

Quiet as a cat he somehow manages to stealthly move across from where akuma left him and had been standing at the bar next to where shina is now.

"Yare yare, you dont find many beautiful girls like this everyday.....barman...oi BARMAN.... bring some sake for this young lady"

He tosses the coins Akuma tossed at him earlier

"dont worry honey, the drinks are on him"

Looking at her from head to toe with his blurry eyes, his face lit up with a cheeky grin as he pictures her naked

"How you doin..." (rofl sorry cant help myself)

"A beautiful girl like you shouldnt be her all alone... hows about we go somewhere private and i can show you..." he looks at her wooden staff and starts laughing "my pole... im sure your very good with one"

He starts laughing and reaches into his kimono to scratch his chest. As he does so his kimono opens up slightly to reveal a large tattoo of a green dragon

[Shina]

Shina raises an eyebrow as she listens to the man. At first, she attempts to ignore him...but her reserve breaks. With a finger held up, she murmers to Akuma, "One moment..."

Shina turns around to the brash man, holding her staff loosely. "Sir, how retarded do you think I look? Femininaty does not equal stupidity. I would strongly advice you to take your drinks and your comments to some other wench. This one, isn't interested" She briskly turns her back on the man with a bored wave of her hand.

Her staff then leans up against the counter as she answers Akuma. "If you must know...I seek employment. Money doesn't grow on trees...and a body has to eat."

[Akuma]

He snickers softly at the man's antics before returning to Shina. "And you look for it in here, eh?"

[Shina]

"One would assume that some sort of business people come here, no? I'm...checking out the lay of the land, if I may say."

[Akuma]

"Depends on what you mean by business people. There are people like me...and then there are the weak." He cracks a smile. "You'll have to make your own choice if you plan to live."

[Shina]

"I sure hope I don't run into the 'weak'"....she gives him a sideways glance.

[Akuma]

"I would have to agree. However...you do realize -we- are always looking for more to join our ranks...you may not have such an opportunity once we are more well-established.."

[Shina]

"Mmm..." Shina's eyes light up. "So you might have room for someone, such as myself?"

[Akuma]

"Perhaps. And you're saying you'd be interested in a group of 'scoundrels?'"

[Shina]

"Possibly. What's in it for me?"

[Akuma]

"Hmph. There will be cuts to everyone based on how well they do. It all depends if you prove you've got what it takes when we're out there, girl."

Comes back to reality again

"ha!!! so you do admit your a wench...*laugh* well any wench is good enough for me.. i likes them with abit of spirit"

On overhearing their conversation about a job he raises a brow

"Well if it be work your after missy i got just the place. My gambling house *cough* is in need of a pretty lady like you"

A sinister smile appears on his lips

"The men will love abit of entertainment when they come to throw... err i mean play their money away"

Looks her up and down again

"Hmmm.... wonder if you'll makea good geisha... seem abit rough round the edges...."

He straightens up to his full height. The alchohol seems to have worked its way in and through his system till eventualy it all went out.
He folds his arms into his kimono and smiles

He looks past her and at Akuma

"oi, kozo.. while your here you can buy us another drink" he laughs "it seems the sake has run away from me again. Oh sake sake sake...."

[Shina]

Fed up, Shina whirls around to slap the profane man.

Kurokami orders some more sake and dumpling and prepares to watch the man get owned. Little do the others know that Kurokami has excellent hearing and can hear every word they say.
