Here is the link to the site hosting the T:LaW-Dojo pages. Its only basic, but has everything we want on it. This is going to be our first, and the whole thing was done by me... But i need Greven, who said he would most graciously host the site for us :)

Link: http://www.freewebs.com/tatsumaki-dojo-test/index.htm

Post what you think, were also looking for some people to help with the site, guides, etc. Just posts your thoughts/applications.

NOTE: I will add more graphics and detail on later versions of the site. I am currently waiting for the fansite kit and more screenshots.

Had a look at the layout you've suggested, and I would advise quite a few improvements...

To start with, the basic layout. Try and have a look at some of other mmorpg's big fansites, and note how they've made their layouts and designs.

Second, the graphics used in this one really doesn't knock anyone down to the ground with amazement. :) If you want to make this a serious effort, I would suggest working on it a bit longer ;)

Actually, that was only the first version of the test site. We are trying to go for a proffesional looking site, but we're planning to go at it through different stages.

1. Basic Outline - We inserted the pages, and plan out the layout
2. Exampling - We insert text, and examples
3. Fillers - We fill in the examples with real text, subjects, ext.
4. Site Review - We review how the sites been looking, and do some finishing touches
5. Site into Beta - We move the site into beta(Grevens Server)and starts operating it, and update it as we go. We'll also be recruiting forum members who wants to join in on this project.

What Tomi said. We thought it would be easier to host the site in progress because of the extra bandwidth and multiple image upload features o_0

But i will work on the site nonstop for a fewdays later on this week... i havent done ANY maths homework since the begining of term... AND ITS DEU IN A COUPLE OF DAYS

But the site will be in beta very sonn hopefully...

Some questions for site Mods and computer experts:

Is it possible to have features such as user accounts, polls, portals, etc. without using php?

I would like to learn php, preferably on Xoops or PhpNuke. Any tips comments, suggenstions that could help me?

When using php, if i want to change the layout theme, and there is only one, after uploading and renaming the new files do i have to edit every single html file so the layout comes out on all pages?

www.tatsumaki-dojo.com has been added to the community part of the new Tatsumaki website.

I suppose that makes it somewhat official ;)

I still kind of prefer the original designs for T-dojo. Greven do you have time to mail the templates to me?

The template looks nice :) Simple and easy, yet it looks nice and (will) show the information in an easy to access way.

The current layout is just being used to write down all articles on the pages. We just had a simple layout to soothe the writing :) i am working on the layout as we speak and i hope it becomes a great site :)

The "template" (aka design) originally intended for the Tatsumaki Dojo is now being used for the official tatsumaki website (www.tatsumaki-online.com). So using that for the dojo will be a no-no ;)

I'll be putting a survey up in a few weeks, with many questions - one of those questions will be "What should our kit include"

So to answer your question - yes, we will ;)

ok, i have a killer first sort of layout... i just need a colour theme. i was thinking light/dark reds or a natural black/brown/white/green feel. post yuor thought or suggestions, i think the current layout is ok so far. (but please post, we need a good colour theme to catch peoples attention)

EDIT: i also need a pic or two to put on the main page. i was thinking edited concept art, but really anything is good. still waiting for the fansite kit, hope its good ;)

ok, thank you for the update.

i had a quick edit of the layout and flicked through a few colour themes. i currently have a nice red colour theme. if any of you would like to see it post here and ill upload it ;) its no use uploading something no one will look at. its a waste of space.

Sykoi

http://img159.echo.cx/img159/2852/layoutsamp6yp.jpg

its just something i did in my spare time, while i was bored. im actully going to go for a more 'traditional' theme with the background, navigational sidebar, cool topbar banner and copywrights and credits down the bottom.

any suggestions or complaints are welcome.
