Concept Art Contest - winners announced!!

Alrighty, this was done before, but we'll give it another shot here. Since there has been a huge influx of good concept art in the forums, I think it'd be fun to have a little contest. You don't have to draw a masterpiece, as some of the best concept art is the most basic and abstract. The first theme for the concept art contest is a samurai and his sword. This might be a picture of a samurai praying to Shinto gods with his sword before him, this might be a samurai simply holding his sword's hilt in anticipation of a battle, it might be a samurai cleaning his sword from blood and grime of combat, and it could be a samurai in a death-strike pose, totally up to you, as long as it at least somewhat relates to theme. Rules are as follows:

Can be any medium.
Must relate to theme - samurai and his sword.
Please attach images via the attach file option on this thread.
Any non art posts, replies, etc will be deleted.
All decisions for judging are final.
Private message me with any questions.
Deadline is 8/10/2005.

There will be a panel of judges consisting of moderators and developers, and all decisions are final. We encourage everyone to enter!! I've seen half a dozen different forum-goers make some sort of concept art, and this is your chance to show off your skills. Your artwork could help promote Tatsumaki Land at War!!

Couldnt resist either, but i dont like to color my drawings/or at least im not good at it :-p

I'm trying my hand at this. I did a black and white samurai, I left the color red because it's mostly on the sword and sheath and it's representative of the power of the sword. It was done in GIMPshop. None of it was done with pencil, thus the not awesomeness.

PS if it's too small PM me so I can send a larger version (this was as large as the attacher would let me put.)

PPS I added the colored version (hope it doesn't count as two seperate entries, if it does, please PM me so I can remove one.).

A little different from the rest in that mine isn't particularly alive. Don't ask how the blood got that way, I'm not sure, I was just drawing it from an artistic point of view.

Oh and he's lying in the snow, that's snow on his trousers, not moth/bullet holes.

I like Nobunaga's the best so far.

Well, after a lengthy judging session, the winners have been decided. I'd like to thank everyone for entering, and say that there was some really good artwork on display. After having said that, I'll say the winners are as follows!!

1st prize goes to Oda-Nobunga, great drawing!!

2nd prize goes to ToshiMaru, another really good drawing, good concept art.

Tie for 3rd prize, between ninjaxmaster and shad0wrunn3r.

Again, thanks for taking the time to enter, I'll do point rewards in the morning, and the other prizes will be dealt with accordingly. Good job winners!!
