My first peice of work, is a sketch of Toshimaru in a cloak. Although i'd like to say that it is a sketch, it took me quite a while to complete it, i tend to stress over drawing a lot. And, i think i might have messed up his right feet a bit.
This is the picture of Toshimaru's Outfit designs, in the "Bountiful Bounty" scene. The reason my cloak looks like this, is because i couldnt find a single reference at all, of cloaks that were worn back then. :chinese: And, its official, i suck at drawing buildings and/or anything else thats not human. :eek:

Pretty cool sketches Toshi, the first one shows a lot of promise, and it's good to see some actual environmental sketches, good job.

These are the first concept designs for Toshimaru, i dont know if Tatsumaki will have these kinds of looks, so it will change. :cool:

nah, i dont think im cut out for the job, i know that the current concept artist is way better in many areas of drawing.

okay, im not very good with female drawings, but mitsue asked for one, so here it is......oh, she is going to hunt me down for this. BTW - i couldnt think of a pose, so i used one from another character.

Personally, I love your style Toshi...it's great. You do great for Tatsumaki concept art, all the drawings have sort of an 'old-world' feel to them. Pose is great, anatomy is great, post more!!! :D

BTW - i was going to use my file hosting site, but it decreases the size of the image, so dont mind me if i post this up here. Its a totally off topic image i was drawing for fun.

Very good, it seems the proportions and such are all ok.
But her head has a weird shape. By the eyes, on our right side, it seems to bend, and thta makes it look weird. I know, it's the hair that does it, but it still looks weird. And her right hand too, the line which cuts in over the fingers is too clear. I suggest you blur that and fade it. And her head should be a bit higher, it seems as though she has no neck. Her shoulders may be a bit high, too.
But very good work, especially because of the hard position she is in.

yea, i didnt have time to edit that, most of the problems are because i tend to draw on a flat surface. i need to find something that slants to lay my drawings on. hehe, at least i know i still got it.
This thread needs to be kept up, so heres a somewhat 'unofficial' bump.
Also thanks Toshi for drawing pictures for me to use as renders ^^ I hope it would be cool if you would let me post them up for other people to use =P

One i did during school throughout the day, i was pretty bored. (the chibi peoples) Its supposed to be Kiros (on the right) and Blank (left) from my Short Story (Chapter 1;Shadows Cast by the Sun; In my novel 'Immortal Era')
The other is by request, a sketch of Akuma (bet you can't guess who asked me to do it :P)

Tenchijin, the first one i like the clothes and the second sketch you did better on the face in my opinion, all around you have a desent style. Keep it up.

Pssh. I can't draw at all (trust me you don't want to see) - it'd just be a shame to waste your talent. Sure...there are others who can draw and there are some who might be better than you - but that doesn't mean you should quit. I think you're style is great.

Kiros, don't give up. A year ago i felt the same way you do, I just kept doing it, looked at tutorials, studied some anatomy and i got better. The more you draw the better you get. One thing that helped me with positioning and camera angles was to take an existing real life picture of the pose i wanted, and basically copy it, after a while it becomes natural to just draw those positions on your own, and easier to do others as well.
And your not bad, if you tried hard and read a couple tutorials and got an anatomy reference, you'd be 10x better than me in less than 6 months.

Why not, I'm studying Zen Shiatsu Massage, martial arts, and i train weights, I'll never use my drawings for anything worthwhile, but it's still good to stay in it, I mean me personally I probably draw a picture every 2 months on average. (in reality it's more like 3 pictures every 6 months at the end of those six months) I don't draw often, and you'll see, you think you're quiting, but it's in your blood, one day you'll feel inspired and start drawing up a storm, then lose interest again if you're anything like me.
I think you should keep it up, drawings are fun to look at.

Pencil became very dull and its like a crayola atm, so i cant really detail anymore. (no sharpener :( ).

Here's another one. The main guy is my character Chronor, and the second fellow is part of a story of mine. If you didn't know, Chronor is pretty much an outcast in Japan basically because he's a Christian. And ironically he saves a fellow who reminds him of Buddha...so he nicknames him Little Buddha. I just think it's hilarious being a christian and being followed by a guy who resembles Buddha...anyway comment as you like!

Practice makes perfect selmo. Just keep drawing stuff over and over again, and you will get the hang of it. Its always good to have somthing to look at for an idea and using a mirror is always helpful.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The majority of us have been drawing since middle school. (personally i got into it when I was in 5th grade) So as long as you have a passion for it...go for it.

I used that line thing where you cut the face into 4 sections and draw a bunch of liens is it better?
