Origins
During the previous wars of japan, many lords began a series of campaigns that sought out skilled warriors and assasins and used them as bodyguards, soldiers, and leaders of their armies. The battles were demonic, and the results were devastating. Many innocent lives were lost, and hundreds of warriors were killed. But within the ashes, arose undefeated heroes, men with legendary names, masters of martial arts, deadly swordsmen, and ghostly assasins.
But, after the end of the third major war, the warriors once known as legendary soldiers dissappeared. Many left the ways of killing, others simply died in peace. Those that were left, refused to let their class die; they would not let their lifes work vanish into myths. Seeing this, leaders of the post-war kingdoms feared that the warriors would rebel against them and take power. So began the continuous slaughtering of these people. Many armies, and mercenaries began eliminating as many warriors as they could; as to destroy any threats. Decades have past since those old days, the few that had survived had to live in hiding, some were forced to give up their ways of combat, others were imprisoned and would never see the light of day again.
The Bakemono Family is a decendant of one of the clans from the old wars. In order to survive the onslaughts of the government and their armies, the Bakemono among other families and clans were formed as sleepers to coexist with the ever changing world and its economy. For when the time is right, and all former glories are reunited; one of the greatest moments of history will take place.
