View Full Version : [Q] Will be there Arena and tournaments? keldoran 06-21-2005, 08:18 AM Is there in plans Arena (without dying) for practice with other ppl? And is there tournaments by style? Thanks :) Sykoi 06-21-2005, 08:26 AM Yeah in dojos, we'll probably make it so you can't kill or be killed (This may lead to exploitation though :() And yes there will be tournaments that will be based on a tier-system (Player 1 vs player 2, player 3 vs player 4; the winner of each face off, the winner of that is the overall winner) MitsueNeko 06-21-2005, 08:51 AM Will there be team battles? (player 1 & player 2 vs player 3 & player 4) Just a thought that poped in my head. TheSporkedOne 06-21-2005, 09:53 AM Team battles would be fun, but because of how the fight system is hoping to be set up as, team battles would work the best if it was like Tekken Tag or Capcom Vs. SNK2 (or which ever capcom team based fighter variant you wish to site it to) where a certain button combination throws your team mate into battle and you step out, thus giving your team mate control. Now dont get me wrong, fighting WITH a team mate would be fun, but I can't see it working to well with realism because I could definately see them getting stabbed or similarly injured by a "friendly" sword. Maybe with the people off screen have them fighting and when the switch occurs its just switching opponents? ToshiMaru 06-21-2005, 11:10 AM would it be possible for player created tournaments? Sykoi 06-21-2005, 11:45 AM Yes there may be team battles, no they won't be tag battles (Unless the tournament calls for them) And yes you'll be able to create your own tournament; Will we add controls to create a tournament? Maybe TheSporkedOne 06-21-2005, 12:17 PM do you mind explaining the system more then? Sykoi 06-21-2005, 12:21 PM Explain what system? If you own a building, you can pay people to fight... :P TheSporkedOne 06-21-2005, 12:26 PM No i mean can you explain how the figthing with allies system is intended to work. The reason I'm asking this is out of wanting to know if I have the possibility to strike down an ally (accident or not) because of a bad swing of the sword or something. xi ryu 06-21-2005, 12:28 PM what he is saying is the game is free form. there are no set "terminals" to make a tournament. if you wanna do somthing in the game YOU gotta set it up yourself and organize it yourself. for instance, we are used to mission based gameplay, were we go to a mission terminal (machine or NPC) and select the mission we want. from what i have read there will be quests from npc's but most of everything will be made by players, for player, set up through players. so the game doesnt really set up anything for you. (just like in real life) TheSporkedOne 06-21-2005, 12:30 PM but thats not what I'm asking!!!! Sykoi 06-21-2005, 12:43 PM xi ryu got it right, everything in Tatsumaki is open-ended - meaning a tag team would work the same as regular combat... You just have to be careful not to hit your partner ShininShado 06-23-2005, 03:07 PM You would have the option to host all out to the death battles if you want to, with betting, you'd just have to arrange everything. I'm not totally sure if they had actual arenas then, but am pretty sure there was fierce competition at most of the dojos. Abc 07-14-2005, 10:16 PM It could be like the gladiators of Rome. And their life or death depends on the rise or fall of my thumb! Shira Sanctus 07-15-2005, 08:59 PM Sounds good to me, I really hope this get puts in the game! |
