[Q]Martial Arts: real "usable" skill or not?

Hi all,
i would know if the skill Martial Arts is a nice skill in combat or is something like a secondary thing?
I mean if the weapon is indispensable for combat.

I pratice kung fu and i would like to see that Martial Arts is a valid alternative than other weapon.
Last question is that if all weapons has the same effectiveness or there's the best and the worst? (for example: a katana can beat the bo (or the Martial arts :D ) easly than another weapons)

There aren't really any skills... It all depends on:
a) What moves you're using
b) What attacks/combos you're using
c) What stance you're in

The above judge what style of fighting you're using (Not like it matters).

As for weapons: We're honestly not sure quite yet... There are several ideas on how weapons will affect combat, but we haven't stuck with anything yet... They all have their pros and cons and we want to test them all first.
