I am interested in it but I am thinking that I will try open beta and see if it is worth buying. I hope it is fun. I almost pre-ordered it but some of the reviews of space combat and ground combat are disheartening.

well its subscription based so youll have to pay to play, unless they do some kinda free trial play thing like galaxies and everquest did.

well, I bought it, My wife got over $300 dollars in stuff for xmas, I got $15, so I am evening the playing field a bit over the next couple months. Here and there. lol

playing now but I don't know what my character's name will be once it goes live. I am having a blast though. I really like ground combat for some reason. I was never into star trek at all. I only know the old series from references and will wheaton from The Guild. I think that helps me to be blissfully ignorant. The best part is that I haven't seen an elf or a dragon yet.

I am playing as marshall@delerium, look me up. I might not play that much until early start since I don't want to ruin it all. I tested to level 11( Lt. Commander 1) or however it goes. See you online!

Yea im only rreally playint he beta to see how i will be building my toon once it goes officia. I bought the lifetime package +4 preorders for the exlusives.

I dont think it is as good as the original star wars galaxies but the current galaxies isnt as good as the original galaxies either lol

So till star wars old republic comes on spring 2011 this will tie me over.

Hopefully they will have some better story content as right now it feels a bit repetative. But i like the combat in it.

That`s most likely the reason you could not connect ;)

If you have old client, can log in, but nothing there and cannot do anything, this is what you do.
You have to delete the old client and redownload the new one, what i did, took ages.

i don't seem to have any problems, updates fine for me. If it says you don't have permission to log into the server, then it is down for maint. Otherwise the only error I get is server is busy. That means too much traffic.
Calisandra is my Lt Com. I love the escort, But I am gonna try the cruiser and science ships too.

I'm having a blast on this game but I want to wait until release. I don't want to have to replay many of these missions again. I have mainly been looking for exploits and bugs (like a good beta tester does) and I have found tons. I found a crazy exploit that makes you invincible to all ground fire. I think I have submitted about 100 bugs although most of them have been addressed. I still see much potential for this game.

Having a fleet gives us some cool extra things such as an Extra Uniform slot so we can have 2 outfits to choose from.

well, I find I have no time to play STO, full time in school, and doing my darndest to get GOOD grades instead of just passing for once. I'm lazy and that takes alot of effort on my part. Yea i havent been on, every time i try and log i either get stuck on retrieving characters screen or the server is down. And when i do log no ones on and it just is boring playing alone.
