Is there such a thing out there? I know there are level type FPS mmos, but not FPSMMORPGs that I have found. I mean something like WOW or SWG, but as a FPS type game?
a good concept to build off of level wise would be something like Dead Frontier online, but as an FPS that would be sick. You don't get money from killing things, you can find it on corpses or left behind, and there is a central area you have to go back to when you run out of precious ammo.
If there are any, PLEASE point me towards them. I wanna try it out, and if there isn't, that might be a nice second project for EoE.

Well I remember this "Planetside" game. People pretty generally considered it to be the first MMOFPS, though it was "versus" - mostly battlefield wars against other players, vying for control over different areas.
I heard PlanetSide 2 was in the make.

Yeah, there is also Savage and Savage 2, both VS types. I mean a full RPG that is also FPS. So you can actually grind if you want, stuff like that. I think one like that would be fun.

This is actually something I know a TON on, having pursued this so much.
Planetside is the ultimate FPS MMORPG and has died out a lot, and is only a flicker left. Was amazing back in the day.
There was also World War II Online, that was a fun game for a bit, super real, which means the axis beats the allies senseless with uber tanks. There are no american troops, so no bazookas, which mean you only use a 50 cal versus the 5 inch plate armor of panzers..... on the plus side, the 50 cal makes NICE holes in infantry, even at mile long ranges :P
There are simulated FPS MMORPG's out there, one was Tabula Rasa, but that did not feel so FPS and died out, it was more a third person type too. I beleive that Stargate Online is FPS style, but third person.
for upcoming MMO's there's a BUNCH of em.
Mortal Online, think oblivion graphics with mount and blade gameplay. It's unique and hard to play, and I dunno how the final game will play. I read they lifted the NDA so I can speak on it. Gameplay is pretty unique, and I don't know how the final game will be. When they release the beta testing of the crafting system, the gameplay changes drastically.
Huxley is an FPS MMORPG, but I bet it's instance mission based. Which is nothing more than a FPS in my opinion. I hate fake mmo's with rankings, lvls, and only 6 people in a gameroom. Dunno bout Huxley though
Battleswarm is one of those fake FPS MMORPG's as I stated, but it's bug RTS commander vs FPS humans, so it's unique enough to mention.
Fallen Earth is an FPS MMORPG, I betaed that and it was kinda unique. You needed to craft to really do well, and you had to find scrap to craft. Was a bit odd in many areas though. But a typical MMORPG so it works a bit in the end.
All Points Bulletin is coming soon. It's made by the grand theft auto people. It's basically a MMOFPS for control of a city where you pick either gangs or law enforcement. Sounds fun.
Force of Arms is a MMOFPS mechwarrior like game that looks amazing in my opinion. It's like Tatsumaki, it's a niche game looking for a few good players rather than millions of wowers.
Global Agenda is also coming out soon. It's like war based spy stuff. Seemed more Tribes than spy based though. But it lets ya complete missions with co-op of up to 4 people total.... like a single player game more than a MMO.
There are others most likely, but hard to mention them all.
I've been waiting for something good like this, I think it could be a lot of fun if done right.
There was Tabula Rasa (Rest in peace) not too long ago, which was an MMO with guns and such, but it wasn't first person. It was also kind of plain, looked like any other 3d mmo just with guns.
There is Borderlands with some good first person action and an RPG-like item and level system, but it's only small coop games.
Games like this are getting closer, they're just not there yet.
EDIT: Zekeen got his post up before me, good post. You know your stuff.

Its still active, actually.

Its by the guys who made crackdown.

Best true MMOFPS coming out '10. Highly recommend it as a beta tester and as an agency leader. Its 60v60 PvP instances for control of bases.
There are others most likely, but hard to mention them all.
Fixed.

I have to admit I checked out their website and I was pleasantly surprised. I love espionage, I love Tribes, I love MMORPGs and I love FPS.
So yeah, I'll be sure to check it out. ^^

I remember playing Planetside... I got called a cheater when I first started because I had a dual core. For those of you that don't know, having both cores active while playing would make your character super fast. I got pretty good, but eventually quit at the same point I quit SWG.
