cant believe no threads yet..its been out for a whole day!!!!!!
Personal opinion: epic, completly badass
dont come here bitchin and moaning about historical accuracy, it got the point across...plus anything that happened that long ago any 'history' prolly isnt that accurate.

i loved it, i mean this movie just looked cool i mean a bit embeleshed and over the top at points but as long as your not going from a history buffs POV its awsome
Doesn't come out here in Aus untill April 4, which is completely stupid. I thought the wordwide launch date was March 8 or whatever.
Oh well, ill see it in a few days ;)

darnit! can't see it just yet. all the theateres are packed with people, and we all what happens when its that crowded. i'll another few days. hehehe, there were some dudes in undies and red capes that went to go watch it; theater guys rejected them though; had to be in normal clothing. HAHAHAHA

i went and saw it during school and the entire lobby was empty and everything then 300's theatre was packed
60% complete ;)
Im going to watch it so many times in the movies its not funny.

it was based off the comic book not the actualy historic event...plus an event taking place thousands of years ago your bound to have some historical innaccuracies even in the most 'reliable' text books

It was crap, crap, and more crap.
The picture was grainy and overexposed. CG backgrounds and bodies stood out like Ted Kennedy at an AA meeting. Completely overdramatised. I don't think that Faramir could have overacted any more.
It felt like Diablo and Total War smashed together.
The actual fighting - awesome.
Leonidus with a Scots accent - way cool.
Xerxes - hoakey, but nice anyway.

I don't know why people are so worried about historical accuracy in movies about ancient times unless the people making say they are going for accuracy. What people know about the last day of the battle is wrong anyway. (when everyone died) There were 300 Spartans... and between 700-1,000 more hoplites from the nearby polis of Thespus.

The only true way to educate the masses is through entertainment. Unfortunately our forums of entertainment are mind numbing. An example I watched my 1st episode of lost a few days ago everyone says its great. This fat guy and some others find a VW bus in the jungle, they say it has gas in it, and there is a rotted skeleton in the bus. They push it down hill pop the clutch and drive away… Ok that’s retarded, in REAL life if gas has been sitting for some time it becomes gummy. This would clog the fuel system. If it is unpressurized it would evaporates. I fear to see how our generation turns out after watching aquateen and family guy (both of which i hate with a passion) and the billions of other crap that the media puts out.
As for 300, I haven’t seen it yet, I’ll watch it when it comes to dvd, I know I won’t like it, because it’s aimed to please the masses…

Yes Sokuku. Badass is typically used to refer to something cool or when someone does something thought imposible. May also be used to as a replacement for the word "hardcore".
Ex. a martial artist beating a group of 12 armed people at the same time without getting a scrach in the amount of time it takes to boil water.

you be surprised at my english skills. I'm just far to lazy to use them.
i'm in my 3rd english class in college, scored a 640 in writing on the sat (which is not shabby) and i'm dysgraphic so yea >.>
and to keep it on topic, link said he'd have sex with any of the 300 men....
I never doubted your english skill, i have always been able to see that you would would be distinguished in that area.

Oh and i finally saw the movie and all I can say is... wow.
As soon as it comes out on cinemas here (April 5) im going to watch it... again haha.
