:D :D oh wow! this game looks so fun!
Dead Rising (click here for movies!) (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/deadrising/media.html)
you bash zombies with practically anything you find, or you could torture them by putting things over their heads and watch them bump heads! plus there are like thousands of them! watch the Dead Rising Official Trailer 3. This game looks so fun :D

Okay, the game looks slightly interesting, only because it has potentially thousands of zombies. However, it appears to just be somewhere between Grand Theft Auto and Path of Neo. I like my enemies to give me a little challenge, and these zombies just didn't seem like they were giving that person a challenge. He was zipping all around them, never getting hit, killing 3 or 4 zombies in single swings.
The GTA crew might enjoy this. That was my first impression, of it, anyways.
Not my cup of tea.

Hmm, looks interesting. Definately one of those "pick it up and jump right in anytime" games. I am interested mainly because it's been awhile since they put out a good Zombie killing game (note: resident Evil 4 was not a Zombie killing game).

I like my games to have a little more to them than "killing everything that moves". Zombie games should scare me, not seem like a walk through the park. Stubbs the Zombie was an exception to this, I semi enjoyed that title, because it was supposed to be a comedy, not a horror.

I think the 'horror' in this game comes from the massive amount of enemies and the real threat is getting cornered by them, rather than the enemies actually being difficult to kill.
The game basically looks like they took GTA, turned everyone into zombies, and possibly multiplied the population by 400%, still, this game would be a reason I'd consider getting an xbox 360, but, I'm going to wait until I see what's going to be hunting us down in RE5 before I even begin to consider an xbox 360.
If they made Jade Empire for the Xbox 360, ill consider buying it, cause it looks like a pretty decent game.
Fighting zombies? No thanks, unless theres a 50/50 chance ill die, the risk is too small.

While there are potentially hundreds of zombies that could surround you, the video showed no problem in clearing them out. Three or four swings created a gap large enough to escape. Even a huge horde of zombies didn't appear all that menacing. I'm with Raku. I associate zombies with that heart pumping "I barely made it" feeling. This game doesn't seem like it'll offer that.
The interesting thing about Dead Rising is how the game plays out based on your actions. You can save survivors, try to get the big journalistic scoop, or just run for your life and just save your own skin. Apparently the game (according to Keiji Inafune) is designed to be played multiple times, doing different things each time.
The concept is very Way of the Samurai, and while it sounds great, Way of the Samurai sucked all kinds of ass. I just hope Dead Rising gets its act together and delivers.

Dead Rising looks like a real mixed bag as far as games go. I think it will be awesome to wade through a sea of zombies, but I do see the gameplay getting repetitive after awhile. I mean, I'm a very story-driven player (most of the time), so I don't see myself being entertained for this for extended periods of time. It seems like the kind of game I could click on for 40 minutes every now and then.

I'm very much with you here. I find more and more games are becoming action based. The story may be deep, but they require hours of button mashing before you recieve the next bit of information. I'd rather think about what's going on in game than play Ikari Warriors 3D.(consider 100 levels of killing everything that moves, Ikari Warriors was a title for NES as I recall.)
