I listen to *the other hardcore*, assuming you're refering to the electro/techno style hardcore? Where as I listen to the rock/metal-esque hardcore, eg. Bleeding Through, Come Back Kid, Throwdown, etc.

I listen to some rock hardcore like Ozzy Atreyu Iorn maiden. THere was already a thread started for that though so I wanted to see about the techno scene on these forums

I always thought hardcore referred to emo music that was more "heavy." That's what it means around here anyway.

well... you see, Ozzy and Iron Maiden are more traditional metal, Atreyu, is kind of a cross-over between hardcore and traditional metal.

Shinzui, if you want to hear hardcore, just download some songs by Throwdown, CBK, Terror or like sounding bands(just search for hardcore bands on google, looking for hardcore in a downloading tool, like Ares, or Kazaa will result in some very XXX material). I think what you're thinking of as 'hardcore' is the genre of 'screamo', like... hmmm, trying to think of screamo bands... kind of like...The Used, Emery, Hawthornes Heights kind of stuff.

I thought hard emo was Screamo but I don't claim to be much of a fan of Emo or hardcore for that matter, althought I pretty much constantly lisen to it (Damn my brothers) but it's all good.

I prefer metal over hardcore but some hardcore is pretty sweet, can't say I mind lisening to Between the Burried and Me once and a while. Killswitch Engaged would have to be my favorite hardcore band though.

I pretty much hate emo solely on the fact that my younger brother and older brother love it... so I have to hate it no matter what anyone says, just to be a jerk to them hehe.

If I do lisen to hardcore (by choice) it's usually at a show somewhere around town, my area seems to have a pretty good Hardcore scene.

Forgot where I was going with this post...

Here's a cool website where you can enter artists or songs and it will play similiar songs, it's done on the basis of the song, and has a pretty good library, just not sure if it has any "hardcore". There are some of the artists mentioned on this thread, pretty neat - but not my type of music.

I dont understand what everyone has against Emo's :(

I mean, the Emo nowdays is just like a normal person, but with long styled hair and listens to a different type of music. I mean, im sorta Emo, and i just do what a normal kid does - play sport, hang out with friends, joke around (especially), etc.

Thats what i really hate about stereotypes - You probably dont realise, that more people dont care about a persons personality, and more about their social 'brand', then you think.
