Does anyone know of a game similar to what this game wants to be that is good? I need something to tie me over until I can get into a test or the release. But none of those poorly translated, four character type, laggy, pointless games please.

Uhhhh, i got one, but you might just leave like everyone else. Face of Mankind - you've probably already tried it, or you've already heard it sucks. One thing that i have to point out to anyone that is trying FOM.

Dude, FOM is all about roleplay - you control the economy, the government, and the storyline. If your a nobody, dont expect to be treated with respect, go in, and make youself famous = in a positive attitude. Then wage war of whatnot, just remember that people want peace, most of them anyways.

I have played FoM for a long time, and it didn't turn out near as well as I had hoped. It's not ... ehhh ... FPS enough? I just don't like the way it works. I love the roleplay factors, but making money and everything is just a pain in the ass, i'd rather play PlanetSide.

I agree with tommy, I have been introduced to FOM by TomiVang, i thought it sucked, but when I played it, Im preety addicted but we'll see when T:LAW is out, can't wait. I reccomend FOM

I've heard of Planetside too, it was actually one of the games that got me crazy about MMo's. Its just that i was a little too young back then, so i couldnt get that kind of cash. Now though, hopefully i can play planetside, and maybe leave FOM. :dunce:

Planetside is much cheaper now, I think it's about $10 ... The expansion is a little more but I never played with the expansion, i'd still have the game but I sold it when I realised that the video card I had couldn't run the game very well when large battles began. However a week after selling it I got a new video card ...

I was dling FOM yesterday untill:

1) It closed down but i didn't have enough cookies to restart form where it was and;
2) Open beta closes end of this month o_0

so im not gonna play for a couple of days... i mean its a 700 meg download 0.0

Last time I checked this game had a long way to go, hopefully it's much better now or it'll end up barely surviving like Neocron.

Runescape is an ok one, but its more of a medievil style. Its also free, unless you want the premium package, which is only like $5 a month. Not the best, but it oughta last ya for a while

Not likely. Ive been playing that for a while and, well, it still needs a lot of work. The RP in the game is in my opinion superb, but the mechanics a complete overhaul in a lot of places such as combat an production.

If you want a little sample of what this game is probably going to be like, play FoM. A lot of the goals and principles are the same (ie no grinds, skills, or levels, player controlled stoyline, etc..) they just tend to be going at a lot of them the wrong way.

In my opinion the makers of FoM, Duplex Systems, are taking a really naive approach, assuming that everyone will roleplay without any incentives to do so or consequences if they dont. This led to a lot of problems with random ganking that are just recently starting to be resolved.

Download FoM, and give it a try. Even if for no other reason than to see where they messed up so you can inform the good people here at EoE.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the hard as hell learning curve.

Well... unless you are a fast learner AND have a cable/adsl/T# connection, i say do it. it would be good for the remaining days. if not, wait until it goes gold and check out the trial.

FOM? gold? not likely, but i still support it, i mean its amazing how DPS is staying alive when a LOT of people are criticizing them. I applaud them, but still, GIVE ME SOME ACTION!!

BTW the release date isnt accurate. Every couple of weeks someone says that the release date is coming. Everytime one of these posts pops up, Duplex comes on and syas the date is not true, and no date is true unless it is stated by Duplex themselves and listed on their site.

go dig up a copy of "battle realms" on ebay, if possible get it with the expansion pack "winter of the wolf"...

well 3rd generation mmos (like T law) are only in devlopment atm, i don't know much interesting and original games, (and trust me i've played a lot)

if you like socializing and crafting and huge roleplay : a tale in the desert is for yu :)

no pvp, or pve, only craft and knowledge aquirance, helping the whole egypt to make it look better (create pyramids and stuff) honestly not a huge 3d engine but the system is interesting :)

if u like interesting pvp, and nice features : neocron may be for you, only thing is that the game is not very populated, well thats the last game i was playin (still playing as an animator but sshhh)

however... not many games are really different from diablo, mournign was a big lie and evryone deceived of it... wait for vanguard, trials of ascension, gods and heroes, T law, and all those "damn, why must i wait so many month before i can begin play" games

Also I'd personally stay away from Neocron (Unless you like low level grinding in sewers (Or did they fix that?)).
