ちぐるま とう (Chiguruma Tou):The Blood Wheel Clan
(Title is in Hiragana)
Ninja Ranks: (ideas are thanks to Naruto =p)
Academy Student:
An Academy Student will go through many trials by the elders of the clan (Hanshi) Becoming an academy student is the first step to becoming a ninja. An academy student does not perform any missions, but trains and demonstrates their mastery of the essential ninja skills and techniques (Basic weapon skills, Substitution, etc.). The final test for graduating to the next rank is performing one of those techniques. Though even if one completes the final test, only nine academy students can become genins, the rest are forced to return to the academy or drop out. ((This will total of a weeks time after admitance, You then will be tested))
Genin (or Renshi)
Genins are the lowest rank of ninja. Once an academy student becomes a genin, they are assigned a jounin instructor with two of their classmates. This group is taught by their jounin and perform basic jobs commissioned by the village. A genin's life consists of these missions and training, all to prepare for the Chuunin Selection Exam begins. At this point, genins are put through a three part exam that proves their knowledge, survival skills, and combat ability. During the final combat part of the exam, the genins are evaluated on whether or not they have the needed skills to be promoted to chuunin. ((This will be one week))
Chuunin (or Kiyoshi)
Upon achieving the rank of chuunin, a great deal of responsibility is placed upon the ninja. A chuunin is no longer an apprentice, but a leader. They can command a small group and are actively involved in combat situations. A chuunin not only holds their own life in the balance, but those of ninja assigned under them. Chuunin's responsibilities do not only extend to battle, however. They are also teachers of academy students, imparting their experience and abilities onto the next generation. They are in charge of teaching the students all they need to know to begin their journey of becoming ninja, and basic physical training. Becoming a chuunin is a sign of skill of dependance, and is not something easily obtained. ((Most members will hold this rank, As a member Stratagy Guides and information will be provided by you as well, the more you participate The higher of rank you will gain))
Jounin (or Hanshi)
Even as achieving chuunin demonstrates proficiency and skill, achieving jounin is a sign of mastery. Jounins are exceptional fighters who operate on a completely different level than their lower ranked counterparts. Because of this, they are given the most dangerous missions. Jounins also are not limited to battle. While chuunins are in charge of teaching academy students, jounins are responsible for trios of genins. A jounin leads the groups through their initial missions and prepares them for the Chuunin Selection Exam. Jounins typically only impart knowledge to their assigned genins, though there are some who take on special students and impart techniques and skills to them as well. Not much is known about the methods of promoting jounins, however. ((These will be leaders that sorta help recruite members to the family/clan. They will be responsible for the people they admit. They will also do things like the Chuunin (write ups ect.)))
Kage
There are many academy students, there are many genins, many chuunins and many jounins, but there is only one Kage. The Kage is the strongest and most supreme ninja of all ninjas in their respective villages. Despite what some may assume because of appearances, they are immensely powerful and hold a number of powerful techniques that can even control nature itself. Becoming Kage is the ultimate level of mastery and skill. Each of the hidden villages have their own Kage, with a different name. Ho (Fire), Kaze (Wind), Rai (Lightning), Mizu (Water), and Tsuchi (Earth). ((No I will not be the Kage, but I will nominate him/her and voting from the Kiyoshi and Hanshi will be required. This person would show great valor in battle as well as be knowledgable about key aspects of the game. They would be considered Second in command.)
Majin
The Leader of the clan. Of Course me I will take the spot as Leader.
A Brief Overview of Ninjutsu and our History.
Ninjutsu was developed in the Iga and Koga regions of Japan (today Mie and Shiga). Most ninjutsu ryuha were not comprised of assassins. Some were even of samurai status, or had at one time held such office. In a time when Shoguns (military rulers of Japan) ruled, Japan was divided into dozens of provinces, each ruled by daimyo, or military commanders. Wars between these daimyo were very common. Their armies fought one another, and many samurai (comes from the word for serve) warriors died. For a samurai, to die while fighting for his lord was one of the greatest honours, since their code Bushido, “the way of the warrior”, required it of them.
The majority of the ninjutsu clans were founded by warriors who had the misfortune of being on the losing side of one of these wars and chose to live, taking their families into the mountains, rather that facing seppuku (ritualistic suicide for the sake of restoring honour) as Bushido (the way of the samurai) would demand. Other ryuha were founded by peasants and farmers who were considered less than human by the military government. Their only chance of survival was to flee to outlying regions and develop skills that would not only help them survive the elements, but the aggression of the samurai as well.
Ninja's are not just experts in all aspects of combat and strategy, intelligence gathering and networking, but also seekers of spiritual enlightenment and truth. Ninja were very much spiritual people. The main influences being Shinto (followers regarded their whole world: the rivers, mountains, lakes, and trees, to have their own energy and spirit), Mikkyo (a method for enhancing personal power involving the use of secret words and symbols to focus their energy and intentions toward specific goals) and Shugendo (a method of spiritual self-discovery consisting of subjecting oneself to the harsh weather and terrain of the area in order to draw strength from the earth itself. They would walk through fire, stand beneath freezing waterfalls, and hang over the edges of cliffs in an effort to overcome fear and assume the powers of nature). But ninjutsu was and is a separate philosophy. Ninpo, or the essence of the ninja's outlook, is a physical, emotional, and spiritual method of self-protection from the dangers that confront those on the warrior path to enlightenment.
In ancient times, membership in a ninjutsu ryu was restricted to those who were born into the ninja families. Every day was spent ensuring the families' survival: farming, martial training, outdoorsmanship, etc. The ninja’s sometimes devious tactics were seen by some as cowardly and even disgusting. From the ninja point of view, however, guerrilla warfare versus a numerically superior force was plain good sense. The ninja were outnumbered, as a rule, so they had to use unusual methods if they ever hoped to survive. Nevertheless, victory was not always ensured. Japanese history books tell of instances of entire clans being destroyed.
Ninja used any ruse, harbored any superstition, and employed any strategy to protect themselves. If necessary, they would use devious political manipulations to ensure peace. Legend and myth surrounded them and their tradition and ninja clans came to be despised by samurai and peasants alike.
They were feared, and many common folk believed them to be nothing more than fairy tale. More than one samurai general set about to rid Japan of ninjutsu clans, most notably Oda Nobunaga.
A clan could, roughly speaking, be split up into three categories of ninja: genin, chunin and jonin.
Genin, or operatives, were trained as warriors from childhood. But this training was usually considered precautionary. They knew that they might be called upon at any time to help protect their community, though most of their lives were often spent as tradespeople or farmers. Ninja intelligence gatherers sent to live in the strongholds of potential enemies were rarely required to act openly. If genin were called into action, it was as a result of a carefully plotted, and usually desperate, plan.
Chunin, were the middle-men who passed the orders between the jonin and the genin.
Jonin were the family leaders, making all political and strategic decisions for the clan. Often, their identity was kept secret from both chunin and genin. Of course certain historical periods required more secret activity than others.
Ninjutsu was a strictly guarded secret among these families passing from father to son, or from a teacher to his best student and if a teacher didn't have an inheritor, the school vanished. Eventually this activity virtually died out altogether but the legacies, in some cases, remained.
((Clan based off of "Henshin Ninja Arashi"))
During the early 1500s, a ninja clan calling itself “Chiguruma Tou” (The Blood Wheel Clan) had begun its rise to power. Led by the menacing figure known as Majin Sai, this clan planned on uniting Japan under its ultimate rule. ((We are the bad people))
Majin Sai met his death leaving behind his only child (me =p). Of whom vowed to continue in her fathers footsteps.
