View Full Version : mac version Mugen 09-18-2005, 06:25 PM I know a lot of people laugh at the thought of mac versions for good games but I was wondering if there is goin to be a mac version of the game. I have some friends who really want to play this game but they have macs. moses 09-19-2005, 07:03 AM i belive this was asked earlier, and the answer was possibly. But the mac version was going to be released later if it was released. selmo 09-19-2005, 10:42 AM What i remember sykoi saying was that if one of his programers got ahold of a MAC they could change it easily SunWuKong 09-19-2005, 02:24 PM Try looking through this post (http://www.eoeforums.com/showthread.php?t=790). Camjpn 09-24-2005, 10:06 PM if Tatsumaki was released on the Mac it would be one of the few good mmo's that are out for it, and would probably gain notice from the Mac community and get a bunch of members from them. I think this would be a good buisness idea lashiens 09-25-2005, 04:16 PM I think a HUGE part of WoW's success has been the fact that it is mac/pc cross compatiable. Let's face it, a lot of people have mac's, and they want to play these games too. Blizzard gave them the opportunity to do so. Let's face it, a lot of people have mac's, and they want to play these games too. Blizzard gave them the opportunity to do so. Actually WoW's success is simply it's name, nothing else. Many other games have Mac versions out (Everquest for one), and they haven't seen much of an increase in sales; this is simply because Mac users buy Macs knowing full well they won't have access to many games, and as such - it just doesn't bother them enough (Or they're rich enough to ditch out thousands of dollars for a system with limited uses :p) All in all, if we can - we will have a *nix based version (Mac, linux, bsd, etc.) - if not, then we won't. Its just a matter of what tools we use in the engine, and being able to compile the source on the targetted system. MattyQ 10-09-2005, 06:05 PM If you're concerned about not being able to install Tatsu on your mac, try installing Linux or getting one of the PC emus. That should give you the infrastructure you need. Zorbon 10-09-2005, 06:12 PM Please no MAC ver, if anything, just make a compliable source, and then if Mac users want to use it they can compile it (Mac is nothing more than bsd), That will also give Linux users the ability to play as well, least I’m pretty sure… But assuming eoe doesn’t do that, you best option would be to install linux www.archlinux.org and then install wine www.winehq.org Sykoi 10-10-2005, 11:05 AM Please no MAC ver, if anything, just make a compliable source, and then if Mac users want to use it they can compile it (Mac is nothing more than bsd), That will also give Linux users the ability to play as well, least I’m pretty sure… But assuming eoe doesn’t do that, you best option would be to install linux www.archlinux.org and then install wine www.winehq.org Never ever, ever, ever, ever going to happen. We've spent over a year working on this code and will never release the source. I enjoy Open Source, but Tatsumaki will never be open source. Zorbon 10-11-2005, 05:18 PM I wasn't saying it should be opensource, I’m just saying that there is no point putting it out onto nitch opensource os, unless it was opensource... Confusing ain’t it? =D |
