I was just wondering, is the alpha out right now? I wan't to preorder but I want to make sure that I can start playing right away

The Beta won't be out for a while, but i'm guessing all the donations made by preordering will help it move along. The next stage after alpha, will be probably be closed-beta, this beta recruit small groups of active people at a time (this is how i think it works). Then you get your open-beta, where more people are allow to join. I've yet to see one that hasn't met with unexpected problems and pushed back the dates for testing or release.
