Well, I'm pretty sure the true answer has already been typed, but I'll try an alternative answer anyways.
Rebellion
Rebellion can bring forth a new standard of living, once the old government is toppled, so it can "help a man live right". Toppling governments is obvious. When it has successfully outed a tyrant, it quells fears. It incites fear to those who cling to the older way of life, namely the old government. Some rebellions have been long, I suppose a few might live thousands of years if they aren't resolved (look to some of the ex-soviet union nations, for instance). So even though rebellion is probably not the first answer to come to mind, I suppose it could be correct.
