Eyes Out Entertainment is seeking employees for a new game, which will go unnamed and unannounced.

Descriptions and Requirements:

Artists: (We need three more) Drawing concept art, reference material for modelers, game world references, architectural references, and story board (You must be capable of at least two out of that list).
Programmers: Capable of using a Perl-inspired scripting language to handle complex events (In-game systems).
Modelers: Capable of low/medium poly models (4,000-10,000) poly, architecture, inorganic, and organic.
Animators: Bipedal, quadrupedal, and off-the-wall animation (I.e. wings)
Digital Artists: Capable of creating UV-maps, and seamless textures.
Writers: (Two positions available) Background story, among other things.

The game:
While it will remain unnamed to all those not involved, I can release this information: It is a simple MMO using a beautiful engine (We're using an out-sourced engine for this).
The world be that of magic, but far away from anything currently made - magic that feels magical rather than thrown together.

...More information released in about a month...

Apply:
You must send your application to jobs@eyesoute.com, and you MUST include samples of your work.

Bonuses:
Since so little is being released on this game, we want to offer our employees a little something in return; every programmer who needs one, gets a license to our engine*, every artist who needs little odds and ends, will get whatever they need, as with everyone else.**

*Only for changes to the engine itself (A rare thing)
**Sorry folks, we're not rich enough to spend thousands of dollars on 3d Studio Max, or Maya :p

Its MMOF (Fantasy)

This may be an odd question, but are we looking at a Science Fiction based magical world (guns, mechs, flying crafts), or one that is more Medieval oriented (dragons, mages, and so on)? I only ask because I would like to send some samples based around the project.

Thanks,
Patrick

Feel free to send me a PM or an email.

Lol, shouldn't we finish T:LaW first? I thought EoE was like 20 employees in size, sounds like you'll have to devote some effort from T:LaW to this new magic...game..thing :P

I'm the only person working on this other game, that works on Tatsumaki; this is a completely separate game.

And as such, it has a completely separate team

I would love to be a writer on this, but I'm not sure if I can do as much work as you'd like me to.

I would love to do some work on this, though, so if I can do the odd small piece or whatever you need, I would be happy to help.

Check here (http://www.eoeforums.com/showthread.php?t=755) and here (http://www.eoeforums.com/showthread.php?t=843) for examples of my work.

You can also check here (http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/showthread.php?t=24297) and here (http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/showthread.php?t=11482) for examples from a sort of rpg-thing on another forum. Oh, now I see them... Be very sure to note the dates, I've improved tons from that. (Oh, and, I'm called the Half-A-bee there)

Yes, i'm getting a bad feeling about this.
I hope tatsumaki wont be phased out for another typical fantasy mmo...

Yeah I agree.. I hope you don't turn biased towards a game.. and totally forget about this one.. since I already spent the cash

Two seperate teams will be working on two seperate games. From the way I see things, Eyes Out Entertainment is trying branch out and show that they can handle the gaming industry. T:Law will still be awesome, and if it takes longer than expected who cares. Every game company has to start somewhere and I hope it works out for them.

Sykoi, I'm wondering, for the artist group, what do you mean by 'game world references' ? Being able to create concepts for the game world, or what? I'm kind of confused, but i'd love to do concept work, because my drawing is too sketchy for really hardcore detailed worlds and stuff.

I am thinking maybe he means reference drawnings for buildings and maps of what goes where, maybe sort of like a architechural drawning. So mega detail would not be needed just accuracy of object placement.

But I could be way off

Don't worry about it Sykoi alone can do the work of 10 men and im pretty sure can be at more then one place at the same time.

(I'm usually better at editing.)

This isn't a formal application.
Just a -> if you need help, let me know.

Separate team, separate game, Tatsumaki isn't being phased out - we're expanding to other games - its what we had planned from the beginning (In fact we wanted to make this game first, before Tatsumaki).

Yeah I agree.. I hope you don't turn biased towards a game.. and totally forget about this one.. since I already spent the cash

We won't, we're dedicating a new team, filled with new people to this game.

You pretty much got it right :)

Stuff like floor plans, reference material for modelers to use, etc.

pre christ may work well...but I thought I'd just let you know about this http://www.rpgfan.com/previews/imperator/

Nothing like that ;)

As much as I'd love to keep track of this thread and monitor who applies through it, I can't and I won't - if you want to apply, follow the instructions. I'm very busy and can't keep track of everyone's names :P

Tatsumaki is our primary focus, and will remain our primary focus; however, there are many people in the industry who don't and will not take us seriously until we have something released, and with Tatsumaki being so complex it is going to take a good while to finish still (which we have touched on already).

We are making this new game with another team, we are not diverting any of our resources, and this game will hopefully be simple enough for us to release it before Tatsumaki beta begins. It is something we need to do to A) prove we can make more then just RPG's and B) prove we can do more then just make good ideas (in the short term, Tatsumaki will prove it in the long term)

Hopefully this will also help us draw out more developers to help put in the more sensitive systems for Tatsumaki as well as touch it up before it goes gold.

For anyone worried about the lack of updates to wiki, I personally have had quite a few problems with my computer which has allowed me to be on all of 10 hours in the last 3 weeks, now that I finally have it fixed, I will be continuing my work on the Wiki Updates. There are alot of changes being implemented, and alot of original ideas being phased out all together.. keep your eyes to the wiki in the coming weeks.

As for the alpha not working for some people, well I personally don't know what the problem is, but I have it too... so dont feel bad, your not the only ones who cant try the alpha.

*cry*

Sykoi: We are still working hard on narrowing down the bug in the Alpha, as well as touching up various parts of the engine.
This (Along with something else I can not mention) will take a little while longer (Anywhere from one to three weeks longer), but once we finally finish these things, we can get started on the actual game elements in Tatsumaki.

About the game.(the fantasy based one)
Will this game cost a monthly fee? Or will it be a free downloadable game, or what?
How much will this game cost if it does?

Sykoi
09-18-2005, 05:20 AM
Wait a month or so and we'll release all that information ;)
But if it helps rest your mind: It'll be free in its own way

Everyone who applied: Bare with me on a response, I'm swamped and sick, but will try to get back to you within 36 hours.

ok, just a random question... are there any openings left? only like 4 months from last time anyone posted here. heh. I've always got story Ideas, comes from living in the fantasy world too much I guess.

Sykoi

Silenti Aevum, the name of this game, has been set aside for awhile so that the modelers and programmers working on it can focus on Tatsumaki, however, we currently have another game under wraps. Nothing too secretive that I won't mention it here, but nothing I want formerly announced.

The idea for this new game is relatively close to the Silenti, but is web-based rather than full 3d.
