There seems to be bug after bug, after bug appearing with the current Family-system, so instead of trying to fix these - how does everyone feel about moving to a different system?
The Diary system, while misnamed, offers a lot more control; it creates a new usergroup (Which can be seen in the User CP), lets anyone apply to it easily without having to have someone add them (But they do still have to be approved), and ownership can easily be transferred.
Not to mention that since this creates usergroups, I can easily create sub-forums for each family, that ONLY that family can see.
Also please keep in mind that I -WILL- move all old posts, families, etc. over to the new system - so nothing will be lost.

Yes, please do Sykoi. Do you remember the situation I am in? (Tenchijin has ownership of the boards, but wants to transfer the ownership to me) Will this help solve that problem too?

as long as nothing is lost, if there are bugs do what you must do to fix them.

I hope this will correct my mistake for asking to join a family that I had no intention on joining. Darn request button was so tempting, I should have paid attention a bit more.

Also, something good about it (i beleive) is that you can have multiple forum owners. We do anyway on the comic team one :D

Everyone start making Diaries in the diary system, who currently owns a family
So after all the family leaders make a board, will the family forums be deleted? No point in two family boards right?
A suggestion would be when family makes board in diary forums, then delete the forum in the family forums and keep on doing the same process until all boards are wiped.
Also maybe another suggestion would be after a certain amount of time to just delete the whole family forums, this would get rid of the inactive family boards whose members haven't seem to have posted at all in any forum.
