If we all want a beta sooner, we should try to get people to help program it, right? maybe we should try to find some people who will be willing to help

View Full Version : Should we try to find programmers to help with the beta? O, and it isn't my first priority... it's just one of them...-_- Sykoi 09-09-2005, 10:11 PM We have more than enough programmers right now, but thanks for the offer ;) What we're doing right now, the reason theres been a lack of updates - will be there even if we get 20 new programmers; its something that takes a bit of time, but we're working as hard as we can to get past it. glowsticknation 09-09-2005, 10:12 PM well, i know you meant in the best interest for the dev team and the game, just wanted to make sure its known that throwing the game together as fast as possible is bad... especially with something as revolutionary and awesome as T:LaW... i'd be very sad if it failed because EoE went SoE->SWG on me and said "most stuff doesn't work... but the lightsabers do, and thats what people want... LAUNCH!" Ronin 09-09-2005, 10:15 PM True... true... i'll have to think more before posting next time, thanks for the valuable lesson :D Raku 09-09-2005, 11:58 PM You will learn many more lessons here on the forums. Most on pie, but still, they are lessons none the less. selmo 09-10-2005, 11:08 AM mmmmmmmmmm pie.... I myself cant wait fo the game but i guess we hafto more programmers would speed itup but not by as mcuh as youd think cuase of the amount of stuff they need to do Mokurei 09-10-2005, 06:38 PM PIE? Where..... But yeh as long as they do the game right, that's all I wanna know, k thx! =) Jin 09-11-2005, 12:14 PM haste makes waste OFE!!! The software development cycle is a rigorous process and hastening it worsens it. The better it is developed, the better it is in the long run (besides the obivious; easy maintability, less expensive when updating, etc.) I only made business applications and such for the government and not games, but I sort of can can relate to what their doing. ComicP 09-11-2005, 05:10 PM so much worry on a single part of the game... u guys should worry on other aspects other than programming. |
